** Yikes!! I heard it would be popular but had no idea that it would be THAT popular!!!

Good thing DH (MM) went to Wally World at midnight last week Tuesday when they went out on the shelves, he almost didn’t go.

I hope you can get your hands on one really soon, you will love it!!!
There really aren’t any 2 people games but like Chovy said it is fun trying to ‘outdo’ a family member’s score on a particular exercise.**
We went to three more stores last night - Target, Wal-Mart and Gamestop. The first two were out, and I was about to give up when I dropped by the third one just to pick up used games for the kids’ Game Cube. Lo and behold, they had 'em in stock! The clerk said, “You were about to give up on this, weren’t you?” 😃
**I plan on letting everyone know about my goals being met or not met by the 7th of June (I think that is my deadline on the Wii calendar for my 3 lbs of weight loss goal).
Anyone else want to post their losses (not gains, LOL!😉 ) when they meet their deadline?? **
I’ve already been on a weight-loss track for about two months now (and have lost ~12-15 lbs. so far), but without exercise. So my wife and I have both set a 9 lbs. in 2 months goal. I think it’s reasonable, too.
We got the Wii Fit at Walmart, and then called around until we found a Wii at Gamestop. They had 2. Yesterday I saw about 10 Wii Fits at a game store at an unpopular mall. I think the key is to go to a place that is somewhat undesirable as fewer people are shopping there, lol. Then yesterday we were out and about and checked a blockbuster for a mario kart. They had several Wiis, Wii Fit, and the Mario Kart (as well as the Mario galaxy game which we did not get.)
We found a single returned Wii at Target, and the Wii Fit, as you mentioned, at a less-popular, out of the way Gamestop. So, it looks like people should take your advice 👍
Okay, I’m way to cyber-shopped out for one day (bought a new DSLR camera today and restocked rosary making supplies). Can someone post what they paid for their Wii game console and the Wii Fit game here in the US?
$249.99 for the Wii at Target, $89.99 for the Wii Fit at Gamestop. And this is in suburban Detroit, Michigan. On eBay, the Fits were going for well in excess of retail. One seller had them as “Buy it Now” for $149.00!
**WOW!! That’s awesome!! :yup: When I did boxing (only 1 time) w/ DH I was sweating profusely! It really is a great workout. I played DH in tennis and he was making fun of me because I was running all over the family room trying to hit the ball even though you can just stand still and do it. I couldn’t stand still, it was just ‘so real’ that I thought I had to run around to get the ball. 😊 🤷 **
:rotfl: Yeah, it’s hard not to really get into those sports games! Boxing is cool, but very challenging.

After working out with the Fit for over 30 minutes last night, I’m sure this is something I’ll keep doing. I only wish it would give you a workout plan instead of allowing you to choose random activities from each group. I think I’m going to limit myself to yoga, balance and strength training at first, and then add aerobics later. The fitness test revealed that I have horrible balance and posture, and that I need to strengthen my core muscles.

I am the same way, I know that this is something that I want to keep doing. I did not want to do it last night, but I did about 15 minutes anyway. After working outside mowing the grass and such, I was so wiped out. I really like the boxing on Wii Fit. That is a good workout.

I will agree that I wish that there was a routine that you would follow as dictated by the Wii, but 🤷 oh well.

On the plus side, the system teaches you to find your weak areas, and gives suggestions on how to work on them.

I think that is the one thing that I like. I think that there are a ton of great exercises to do. I like to try and focus on the Strength and the Aerobics. I know that I am not very good at Yoga so I try to avoid. I need to try and do that more to get better. Ya know?

I also like that you can add your daily actvities that you do and you get Fit Credits for it.

Those of you who have a Wii Fit congradulations.🙂 I would love to get the Wii and the Wii Fit myself but it is so expensive here in South Africa and I just cannot afford to buy it.:crying: My son had to wait a year before he got PS2. Don’t even talk about the PS2 games they cost a fortune he gets one game every 4 months.

It is really over prized and way to expensive. I would never be able to afford it right now. It just got into our stores last month. But when they advertise it on TV it makes you envious but unfortunately for us we will never be able to afford it.

The cost of the Wii is R4000 and the Wii Fit R5000 plus the games are like R500. Take the price of the Wii Fit and multiply it by six then you can imagine how much it costs this end of the world. That is like electricity & grocery money put together for 4 months.

Guys enjoy it.:dancing:

So I now have unlocked the 3rd level of the Boxing in the Aerobics section. I cannot remember how long it lasts, but I did it last night and I have to tell you, it was a great workout.

everywhere around here is sold out of wii fit…

Speaking of wii’s… I need an objective opinion. DH and I bought Guitar hero for step dd for her birthday. When dh first brought it up that this is what he wanted to get her, I objected because she is only at our house 4 days a month and I was worried that the other kids would play it more than her and it would lead to bad feelings… DH said that we make the other kids share all their toys with step dd and so he had no problem with the other kids playing it when step dd was not there and she would have to take turns (share) when she was… no problem, we went and got it and made sure she got to play it first and the most all weekend long… so the other day ds had some friends stop by while he was playing with it… naturally they asked if they could try it and ds said sure… well dh got really upset that other kids were playing with it and came and asked me about it. I said I had no problem with the other kids playing it with ds and I didn’t understand why he did… he was like… well it isn’t ds’s to give permission to others. I asked why this was a problem… ds was playing it… his friends were playing it with him…

What do you guys think? I think when it is shared and the owner isn’t around, I really don’t see a problem with others playing with the kid playing it…

I think you should just tell him that ‘all things are replacable but feelings are not.’ Meaning that even if it were to break by accident that (not saying it will but just incase) it can be replaced.

I don’t know, I think I kinda have to go with hubby on this one. There’s a difference between sharing among family members, and having any old person have access to your stuff. I think since it was her birthday present, she should have some say as to who she shares it with. It would be different if she was there and letting everyone have a turn, but not being there…I’d have to say no.

You all have me very excited about the Wii Fit! Currently, it is sitting in the bottom of my closet waiting for our 18th Wedding Anniversary on the 6th of June. Now if I do it religiously, will I be a swimsuit model by the end of Summer??😉

God Bless!
The darn thing just told me I was a couch potato after I did six push ups. Congrats on 18 years of marriage!👍

My ds who works at Wal-Mart and I had a talk about getting it. I told him I would love it but I thought it to expensive.😦

Ds noted that there was just one left at the store. He observed a couple arguing over it. The man picked it up and put it in his cart. The woman would return it to the shelf. It went on for awhile. My son waited until the woman returned it to the shelf once more. He than bought it and gave it to me as a Mother’s day present :extrahappy:

I love it. It really has been an incentive to exercise and watch what I eat. I have been using it for almost two weeks. I am working on getting everything unlocked.

i just got my wii fit last weekend. my first try at the balancing wasn’t too good and it made the comment, do you fall often when you walk?

Had to chim in on this one as a Wii owner and a Wii fit owner as well. This is truely a whole family game. My 11 yr old son plays with my 12 yr old daughter who has Down Syndrome, which by the way is the reason I bought into it. She cannot always play with him and this has made it possible. As for the wii fit well we all have a blast with this one, and I am hoping to get into shape as well.👍

God Bless
Kathleen

Hey, I wasn’t too happy with the age that the thing gave me!!LOL! Our dd, 5 years old, made me laugh when she was doing the Hula Hoop game/exercise and couldn’t keep the hula hoop on her hips…I told her to move over and I would show her how it was done!!😉

We finally got another controller so we could do the two people run.

Wow what competition. I was surprised that I did so well.😃

One thing I hate is it asking why I gained weight:(

I lost a few pounds do to having the flu Yuck. I knew when I began to eat again I would regain it. There is no answer for it.

😊 After being so excited and happy to have this, I must admit that I have not been on it in over 2 weeks. Life has gotten in the way of being able to do this. I feel bad when I am not on it, but I just have too much to get done and by the time I would have time  I am just too tired. I know it is not an excuse, but I need to get motivated.

Have you ever noticed that the name of this gadget sounds like a pre-schooler urinating? And yes, I do believe that the guys who design these things and make up non-words to label them are really that byzantine. They would really do that for an additional laugh on the way to the bank with your former dollars.
