In a little googling today I ran across a wildly anti-Catholic website. I’m not providing this for the purpose of flaming (I’m not even sure if there’s an email addy) but for folks to see exactly what kind of arguments are being made. It’s incredible how blind some people can be…

Mods, please delete if this in any way violates rules.

I’ve been on that website.
They are typical ultra-fundamentalist nut-jobs,
who are badly in need of our prayers.
You might want to offer a rosary for their conversion of the
owner(s) of the website.
God bless,

:bigyikes: That site reads like its put together by a seriously deranged person. They are not just misgided, the hate they hold must be crippling.

Brian I didn’t bother to look. The net is full of it if you only start to look. We know the truth and we know the Lords teaching that 'the truth will set us free!

But you did right to down load it. It gets inside you and destroy your inner peace. So share

If you want to read something a bit more factual, I recommend Enid Blyton or Hans Christian Anderson 😛

The funny thing is that the same old trash sells, and many of these snake oil salesman know this and want to make a buck off the gullable and misinformed. The really sad part is, people will always lay down their dollars for this stuff.

The other funny thing about these crazy sites is all the creepy images they like to put up when talking about the Catholic Church, skulls, blood, medieval cartoons of some poor fella on the wrack, green dripping goo, spooky sounds, it’s all quite laughable;)

Perhaps we should start a thread to see who can find the wackiest anti-catholic site? This one’s hilarious, I like the crazy skull at the bottom, it gives me warm fuzzies:o

The site is laughable in its contents of pure ignorance and rampid hatred. I am not even Catholic and I think that it is totally whacked!! This is the way these ultra-fundamentalists think and believe. It is a very scary proposition!

Actually I think that as Catholics we owe iot to our Protestant brothers and sisters not to look.

We know we are going to be insulted. But a more sinister implication is that we take on board in a subliminal way the criticism which may then have a negative knock on effect with our dealings with Non-Cahtolic friends. Better not to llook.

Yes, you’re probably right, good word. The beautiful thing about being Catholic is ya’ll, I praise God for my brothers and sisters here at CAF who truely look out for one another:)

I just read the opening text of that website… after a few sentences this: “Ask God to show you the old paths (Jeremiah 6:16)–the old way of living and worshipping God. Look for the old ways–Father working, Mother cooking, cleaning and caring for the children…” :hypno: Nice website…

“Satan is a deceiver. But God is not without witness, you can rely on the Authorized King James of 1611–it’s been around a long time and Satan hates it. The beast is coming and I forewarn you that men playing around with the Bible and changing it has something to do with ushering him in.”

Should we tell them that the AV used to have seven more books …?

“We are never commanded to remember His birth. Salvation was a man-sized job and it was His total purpose in coming here.”

Well, I suppose he could have just descended from Heaven, a fully-grown male, but somehow, I think the reception would’ve been more confused and the hypostatic union a bit obscured …

“They eat Jesus and pray to Mary. That’s messed up.”

Yeah … Transubstantiation and Intercession. Go figure! 🙂

“God’s declaration in Scripture is that it and it alone, is this final authority in all matters of faith and morals.”

1 Cor. 11:12
2 Thess. 3:6
2 Thess. 2:15

The Word of God is the final Authority. Period. This, however, does not necessarily mean the WRITTEN Word of God is, without exception.

“It is because of people like these men, Tyndale and Wycliffe, that we have the scriptures today. If the Catholic religion had its way, we’d still be in ignorance about the Bible and enslaved to the pope.”

I’m proud to have Tyndale’s name on my Bible’s spine! The Protestant Church, especially in Ireland and surrounding regions, performed equally terrible persecutions when it had the chance. They can’t BOTH be wrong.

“It is devilish to forbid God’s people to marry when He has given marriage to be received with thanksgiving.”

Contradicts almost all of 1 Corinthians 7 …

“Peter was married (remember the pope is supposedly continuing the apostolic line through Peter).”

I never thought of this! Any thoughts, guys?

“‘Let us ask [Mary] to be our Mother, guiding us and protecting us…she is always leading us to Jesus [The Bible doesn’t say that!]’”

Well, I suppose she might point some more in the direction of Buddha, if it suites them …

That was amusing! Do you think it’s SDA??

Darn them … When we get together with my old baby-sitter this summer, I’ll have to casually throw in the fact that the Pope is the Antichrist, just to gauge her reaction.

Do you think it’s SDA??
Nah…If you scroll down far enough, they have a  jolly little section on 🤷 “how to witness to SDAs”…
As far as I can see, they pretty much hate everybody equally.:nope:
My favorite is where they have some guy who claims to be a  “former witch” explaining that in the Harry Potter books, the word “erised” is the name of a “real demon”…Ummm…I guess they have no mirrors in their :whacky: little world…“Erised” is “desire” spelled backwards.

Have you ever noticed how many of these guys claim to be  “former witches”???

Yeah. Let’s seek all that’s good.

And as far as Peter being married, etc., it’s considered Church discipline and not Dogma. That is, it can still change, though the Vatican et al recognize still (thank God) it’s a good way.

God bless,
Aaron

1 Tim.003:001 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
003:002 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
003:003 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
003:004 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
003:005 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
003:006 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

From the KJV:
1Co 7:7 For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
1Co 7:8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.

Zooey, I love you dearly. You have such a refreshing take on life,

A saint by any other name. 🙂
