Will And Grace And Britney Spears

So Jack’s radio station is bought by a “Christian” company and the roll played by Britney Spears is that of a cooking show host and it’s entitled “Cruci-Fixins??” This is supposed to be funny?
Now I have to believe there is not a huge following of the TV show “Will & Grace” here but I also believe most of us recognize bad taste when we see it. The recent cartoons that Karl Keating’s e-letter just talked about reminded me of bad taste and what can come of it. I doubt any Christain group will attempt to burn down NBC unlike some of the reaction to the anti Muslim cartoons discussed in Karl’s e-letter but I hope at least some regret will be expressed. Cruci-Fixins?? Oh please!

Yes, she was married before they had the baby. The tabloids are saying they are having a second, but I don’t know if that is true or not. Seems awful soon.

NBC Removes Offensive Segment From “Will and Grace”
(Tupelo, MS) - Responding to pressure, NBC has decided to cancel an offensive segment from the April 13 episode of “Will and Grace.” American Family Association (AFA) said that NBC cancelled the segment after pressure from NBC affiliates and AFA. The network had previously announced that the segment would feature Britney Spears in the role of a conservative Christian hosting a cooking show called “Cruci-fixins” and would air the night before Good Friday.

NBC now says their own description of the episode was a mistake. In a memo to affiliates, the network said “the information was mistakenly included in a press release describing an upcoming episode of ‘Will and Grace’ which, in fact, has yet to be written. The reference to ‘Cruci-fixins’ will not be in the show and the story line will not contain a Christian characterization at all.”

“NBC wanting us to believe they were mistaken in describing the segment, that they didn’t know what was in their own press release, just doesn’t hold water,” said AFA Chairman Donald E. Wildmon. “Plainly put, NBC heard from their affiliates that they did not want to go through another ‘Book of Daniel’ situation while losing millions in advertising avenue.”

AFA’s effort caused NBC to cancel “The Book of Daniel” after three episodes because of loss of sponsors and viewers.

American Family Association is a pro-family advocacy organization with over two million online supporters.

I apologize for hijacking this post but I really did not want to start a post on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I was shopping with my wife this week and I noticed 5 of the 6 magazines plus 2 of the tabloids had either cover stories and/or large pictures of them on the cover. Can anyone tell me why?

I wish I knew. I was thinking the same thing that last time I was standing in the checkout counter. My 12 y.o. daughter began reading the tabloid headlines and remarked that she “didn’t know Brad Pitt married Angleina Jolie”. Great.

Britney’s problem is that she has bad knees. I’ve read that they’ve been operated on 2 times. I know she fell down and injured her self while shooting a music video and couldn’t even finish it. That couldn’t be good for her career. Her voice is bad so if she can’t even dance than it’s all over for her.

I don’t think that Britney,Jessica Simpson, Justin Timberlake and all the people from the boy-band era of music have any talent at all. I hope that they do not make a come back EVER.

are you serious? No talent? Have you heard Justin Timberlake sing? Get real now. Before you post something, know what you’re talking about…

And as for Britney, she has really bad knees. She injured herself a day before her Chicago concert and had to reschedule for a couple months. It was worth the wait, though. She puts on a great show.

Seems “Cruci-fixins” is nothing new. And the recently cancelled episode of Will and Grace was origionally scheduled to appear the day before Good Friday. Coincidence? Probably…
