1 Peter 4:17
For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

scripture makes it evident.

I find it hard to believe that there are no calvinists in here, or anyone of the protestant mindset which says that christians will not be judged.

Most of my protestant brethren were of this mindset in the over 18 churches I went to before becoming Catholic.

All humans will face judgement, even christians.
Do you have any other questions or was that it?😃

On judgement day what do you think sets apart christians from non christians as far as who will make it to heaven and who will not? What is the criteria?

The calvinist agree with scripture. We are all to be judged. The protestant churches you attended, possibly they were OSAS churches. Calvinist reject OSAS. At least the ones I know and talk with on a daily basis.

Confusion comes in because a Southern Baptist maybe calvinistic, but not reformed and holding to convent theology as say a PCA member. Per my PCA brethern, there is a difference.

Calvinists do NOT reject Once Saved Always Saved. They dont like it being called OSAS, but they do in fact accept the teaching.

The Protestants who do respond to those types of verses think that the Judgment will be a rewards ceremony for them, not a look at how they lived their life which will determine Heaven or Hell.

God foresaw the possibility of Calvinists coming to this web forum and posting about their theology. He saw this before He even created the Universe, so He, in His Divine Wisdom, chose, at that time so long ago, not to have any Calvinists post on this forum at this time. What the future holds, we cannot tell, however.

(I hope you all understand that was tongue-in-cheek. To Calvinists out there, please try to see that humor, not insult, was intended.)

The Westminster Confession of Faith chapter 18 and The Westminster Larger Catechisms #78-90 disagree with you. As would the other books they use, Calvins’ Institutes of the Christian Religion. These books, as well as the scriptures, define calvinism. Just as the catechism of the Roman Catholic church, as well as the scriptures, define catholicism. If you have not read these books on calvinism, I would invite you to do so. Not to believe and be converted, but to understand. Just as many protestant misunderstand and mislead others about catholic teachings, I find many catholics misunderstand and mislead on protestant teachings. I read the catechisms of the Roman Catholic church to understand what is believed. That is why I cringe when the Roman catholic church is misrepresented. Did the same with calvinistic protestants and cringe when they are misrepresented.

But we could be talking past each other. What many consider a calvinist is not what a calvinist would consider a calvinist. There are degrees of calvinist. 1pt, 2pt, 3pt all the way to 5pt fully reformed calvinist. Most 5 pt calvinist will not consider a 4pt or less to be a calvinist.

You will find calvinist mainly in the presbyterian churches. OSAS will be found mainly in baptist or baptistic churches. Many mistake the fundamental churches as calvinistic and they are not.

:tsktsk: rpp, God does not foresaw, He ordains. So lets correct this…
God ordained that Calvinists would come to this web forum and post about the sovereignty of God. He knew this before the creation. So at that time He directed that calvinist would not post on this thread at this time. God knows the future as He knows the past and present. While we do not know when a calvinist will post on this thread, if ever. God does and His will be done.

Theres hope for ya, you got the fundamentals down. Just need to tweak your doctrine:eek: No it won’t hurt…well maybe it will, but not too much…well me at least, it just might be downright agony for you:rolleyes:

(please take it in the humor it is meant to be.😃 )

Reformed Theology teaches that salvation cannot be lost, that is OSAS by definition. The Westminster Confession makes it very clear salvation cannot be lost.

Okay. You are right about God foreseeing versus pre-ordaining. Sorry about the poor choice of words.

I do have one question.

Is “tweaking my doctrine” the same as tweaking my knee? Is it as painful? I certainly hope not. I have a bad knee and will find out later today if I need surgery (for the 5th time).

With due respect, calvinist orthodoxy DOES teach OSAS.

and so we see, that anyone teaching once saved always saved is actually in direct opposition to Jesus.

every Christian will face judgement.
