Will God forgive me for my mortal sins if I confess them?

So, I have never actually been to confession although I am a Catholic.

Recently, I have realized that I have been sinning willfully while being completely conscious of the consequences of those sins. I am fairly positive that some of those sins are mortal sins, though I am not quite sure. Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t killed anyone, committed adultery or anything of that sort, but there is a list of other sins I have done that are certainly immoral.

I have made a conscious effort to stop doing these things cold-turkey and so far I have been successful. I have had a deep desire to confess those sins to a Priest, which I want to do this weekend.

My question is: If I confess my sins, will God actually forgive me? I have stopped committing those sins because I know it offends Him and I want to be a better Catholic. Will I still receive some kind of punishment for those sins that I do confess once I die?

Thank you.
