Will God listen to Mary more than me?

Why do we pray that Mary will intercede and pray for us rather than us just praying right to God? It’s not like He’s preoccupied and can’t listen, right? He wouldn’t have those human limitations. Does an intercession from Mary or the Saints mean more to God than a direct prayer from me?
