Will Heaven be boring?

Time will no longer exist…we will live in eternity with God…it has no beginning and no end…so how can we get bored if there is no beginning or no end…it “just is”…and we will “just be”…the Bible tells us we can’t even imagine what God has in store for us

I think it’s safe to assume the answer is no, it will not be boring.

If any afterlife is boring, I’m sure it would be hell.

Yes, that is the definition of heaven. Do a search in the Catechism here: http://www.scborromeo.org/ccc.htm for the words “happiness” and “beatitude” to get an idea of what God’s intention has always been for man. God’s “mere” immediate presence evokes unbridled peace, joy, well-being: happiness in humans. All goodness, whether here on earth or in heaven, has it’s source in Him-but in heaven Goodness is uncompromised, and we can barely begin to comprehend it’s power.

I think people ask this question because of the caricatured notion of heaven that is prevalent in the wider culture. They imagine heaven is just sitting on a cloud playing a harp and talking about God for all time. It’s like being in Church all day for someone who has no relationship with God and no desire to be there.

But of course the answer is that heaven will never be boring. God is infinite goodness. Like Tisbearself said, it’s like spending the day with someone you’re madly in love with times infinity. We will never come to a point where we cease learning new things about God. And we will never stop being madly in love with Him.

I’ve been reflecting on this a bit as of late. There seem to have been a lot of deaths in my life recently (friend from high school, high school teacher, friend’s father). And I know it’s easy for people to question why God allows some people to die of cancer at a young age when they have young children, or to drown in the sea of an unexpected mudslide. But if Heaven is really so awesomely better than even our wildest imaginations can come up with, I don’t think the people in heaven will be mad at God for short-changing them a few decades of life on earth.

In short, whatever great things you can imagine Heaven would be like, it will actually be infinitely greater than that. So, no, we won’t be bored.
 
All good answers here. In a word, no we will not be bored in Heaven!! We will be blissfully happy and in love all the time!!

Also, as someone else has said, there is no time in Heaven, it’s just a present moment that we experience, so we won’t be bored becuase we are just sitting around. Very mistaken notion that is.

I heard an explanation of heaven by Dr. David Anders last summer on his EWTN radio show, Called to Communion. When he finished his explanation of what heaven will be like, I was ready to go right then and there! I didn’t want to go on in this life!! A bit exaggerated, but you get my meaning. it is going to be THAT good!! Do anything you have to to get there! Love Jesus, love your neighbor. Live out God’s will so you can make it to heaven.
 
No. Being bored is rather anti-thetical to the idea of Heaven.

Humans have a hole in them, and they seek to fill this hole with the Good. We find good in finite things, whether in the pleasures of the body (this isn’t always a bad or disordered thing), in emotional ties, etc… But none of these finite things fill up that hole just right. So after a time, we do grow tires and bored of them. Since that’s all of our experience in this life, we tend to think the pleasure and excitement of all goods will fade. However, in Heaven that space inside of us that we seek to fill with the good is perfectly met. It’s not imperfect. It is fulfilling and complete and unending. It’s like you grew bored of finite goods before because they were not truly what you sought, but Heaven is the fulfillment of that want and drive, and so you’ll never be bored.

Not because you’re being mind controlled, but because you now have what you were made for. It’s not just that you think you have what you want, but that you truly have it.

Exactly.Like solitary confinement. In darkness. Forever.
But as I said earlier in this thread, that’s just imagining. I have no certainty about Hell. And I hope I never do.

Doubt it. I am almost never bored on this earth. That is the least of my worries. Accordingly, I don’t anticipate it being a problem in the new earth either for much the same reason. Though I am perhaps lucky in that I find ‘good’ more interesting than ‘evil’ or ‘bad’. Thomas Traherne has this comment about the sight of a tree driving him into ecstasy. Perhaps it is an acquired taste…

No. I will never be bored because I will be constantly telling jokes to God and the saints. Of course God would never laugh at them because he is technically the one that came up with the joke. 'Cause he made me.

EDIT: If I make it to heaven.
