This is very uncomfortable for me to talk about but I am troubled today over something that I heard. I came into the Catholic Church about a year and a half ago, and like everyone else I had my first confession before entering. I confessed to as many sins that I could recall from over the years. Sadly, I had to confess to funding an abortion many years ago. I received absolution and felt great about my new spritual life. However, recently I have heard that a preist needs a special dispensation to forgive sins related to abortions. Is this right, and how do I know if this preist had such a dispostion. I hate to relive the whole horrible matter again, but I do want to make sure that the confession and absolution was valid. Thanks for any help that you can give me inthis matter.
