Will Jesus return in the flesh or as a spirit?

Hi. I was wondering is someone could tell me what the Catholic view is on Jesus’s return. Will he come back in the flesh, or as a spirit? If in the spirit, will he still look like a man? It seems Scripture promised he would return the same way in which he left, which seemed to be a corporeal body.

What is a glorified body? I get that there is a supernatural aspect to it, but does it consist of flesh and blood? Jesus appeared to the apostles in the same way as a crucified man resurrected in the flesh (he ate, he still had wounds). Angels told his disciples that he would return the same way that they saw him rise into heaven. That suggest flesh and blood to me. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Yes. Right.

At the Resurrection, Christ’s body became once again a whole person; and not just whole but perfect (ie glorified).

That can never be un-done. His body and soul can never be separated again, because if that were to happen, then the Resurrection would not be real. It would only be temporary. If His body and soul were ever to be separated, that would mean His body would be dead. That would reverse the Resurrection, and that’s impossible.

Once He rose from the dead, His body and soul are inseparable for all eternity.

Right.

Glorified (in this context) really means “resurrected” and along with that means incorruptible. It doesn’t just mean “visually appealing”
 
My opinion (which does not, of course, represent Church theology) is that the return of Jesus is through ICBMs armed with nuclear warheads, in short, global nuclear war.

So, to answer your question, neither flesh nor spirit, but, rather, fire.

Jesus is talking about his thirst for the conversion of souls across the entire world.

That is a common interpretation. My priest agrees with my idea that the fire of 12:49 is the same as the fire of Isaiah 66:15-16.
If it is not, then explain to me when the fire of 66:15-16 is going to happen.
 
From all I’ve read, he’s been in Heaven in the same condition as when he left the earth. That’s how he’ll be forever. His resurrection exactly heralds ours.
