That’s wonderful! I’m so glad you were able to find a Catholic church and attend Mass. Please tell us your wife and children were able to go too!Thank you all for your help. I went to the Easter Vigil while visiting my in-laws!
I, also, hope you did not go alone, but, I will bet you feel better for having gone. Good for you! Easter Vigil is such a moving Mass.Thank you all for your help. I went to the Easter Vigil while visiting my in-laws!
Good Friday is not a holy day of obligation. You do not need to do anything as obligation. For Sundays, you must attend a Catholic Mass (on holy days of obligation as well), if possible. If there be no Masses within a reasonable distance, the obligation is dispensed. The same for reasons of illness, looking after the ill or any other justifiable reason.I have a question that is somewhat related to the OP. As many of you are aware, if a person cannot attend the Good Friday liturgy, praying Vespers on that day satisfies the Good Friday obligation. Does the same hold true for Sundays (and solemnities?). There are some Sundays where it is not possible to fulfill my Sunday obligation. Does praying the Sunday Office satisfy the Sunday/Holy Day obligation?
I truthfully cannot say that. Please tell us your wife and children were able to go too!![]()
Sorry to hear that. I do understand the conflict though. I will be praying for them.I truthfully cannot say that.![]()
