Will Muslims and Christians ever get along?

My gosh!

Will Muslims and Christians - and by the way, other religions too (i.e. Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) - ever learn how to have peace with one another for crying out loud? I mean, come on, this is getting ridiculous on how we’re attacking one another or saying you’re wrong or they’re wrong, yada yada yada!

Well, if the practice of Islam does not require as a central tenet that the entire world live under Sharia law, perhaps we can all get along.
 
Yes when all Muslim are Catholic. All sheep of the one fold with the One True Shepard.

At one time in History people wondered if Christians and Jews could ever share the same world. It took time. The Jewish and Christian religions would not compromise their beliefs yet today I doubt there is any animosity by either.

It is the desire by both parties to want to get along that is the key. Fortunately GOD gave both religions that key. It is always the fanatic who gets the others worked up whether it is a street mob or a religion. Treaties and good words are only temporary means but GOD’S intentions will surface if it is his plan.

More than a decade ago, families of Barangay Vitali, some 75 kilometers away from the city and nearby communities were caught in the assault of government troops against the rebels, prompting them to flee. In this Village, Christians and Muslims are living together. Despite the challenges, the Gawad Kalinga team remained steadfast in their decision to help the community. They started to rebuild the shanties, and unknowingly started to rebuild the relationships that were destroyed by years of conflict. Even the young people were educated in the GK programs and taught to participate in the effort to attain a better quality of life. Now, 47 families have received a new home and a new lease on life because of Gawad Kalinga.
 
Paris is right. Jesus did say “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations.”

He said to do it through preaching, though, not the sword. And he didn’t command that we establish Christian civil law everywhere.

😛 How many times do I have to keep saying that our Lord told us to go make disciples of all nations? I don’t think He said go make some and leave others! Did He? No! 😛

The Jewish people will be grafted back into the vine when the age of the genitles is over. The age of the genitles is when all people have come to the Catholic Church. Jesus is a Hebrew. What makes you think that he doesn’t want his family saved and to know the Love of God?

I dont know that is why I ask…😛 …I did think that there was some paper published by the Vatican that stated what position the Jews held in regards to this…does anyone know about it??

Thank you. I would think that he does want the Jews to know the Lord…but they have issues with that (knowing that Jesus was the Messiah etc.).

Certainly the Church should never forget the Jews, since we have our origins in Israel.
Jesus was a Jew.
 
Really Christians killed my cousin in Bosnia,and destroyed all 26 mosques in area where once 50 000 Muslims lived!
So i cant return to my town and thats just part of life!!!

And also if some didnt get some of western history,Muslims dont wanna conquer Bangkok,but they have been living in those lands for centuries ,unfortunately arent in Muslim states Phillipines,Thailand and rest

Thailand southern provinces were always part of Malay states Suton and rest,but British government anexed those parts to Thailand in 1908!
Also Chechnya like that country wasnt independent before Russia?

Maybe you dont know a story of a Muslim fishing village where today’s Manila is located?
Story goes like this,when Spaniards came to Luson,biggest and most populated Island in Phillipines now ,they found a nice piece of land from where would they govern land

Only thing was for them village was a Moorish(Muslim)

So ,Spaniards in Tomas de Torquemada’s fashion torched and killed all the Muslim population and renamed it Manilla and erected Catholic church where mosque used to stand!
So, i know Islam did same to Christian sites some,but i mean,all i see is how some Muslims are beheading and all was fine in Christian world,where there are magical princesses and fairytales

So,bravo i mean honestly now,who knows this story,even among christians,and those educated ones

Judging from some of the comments above, it would seem that to avoid the mistakes of the past, the best chance for Christians and Muslims to get along would be in the context of a religiously neutral government.

But somehow, I doubt that we can even agree on that!
 
Muslims and Christians can certainly unite on common issues such as abortion. If the Muslims and Christians of this nation united on that one issue, I believe that God would be pleased.
