Will my dtr and son be "destroyed" according to JW doctrine?

Here is a quick background.
I am born/raised/practicing Catholic. My husband was born/raised JW and left the church in his teenage years. His entire side of the family is still practicing JW’s. My daughter and son are both baptised Catholic.

On a recent visit to my in-laws my husband began arguing with his mother and challanged her to admit that JW doctrine states that our non-JW children will be “destroyed” at the end of the world. She balked and would not admit this and would only state “Jehovah reads hearts too”

I am interested in knowing not only the “official doctrine” but also more of the inside scoop of what the JW’s really believe on this matter. Does she really think her God would destroy her precious grandchildren just because they are not witnesses?

They believe all non-JWs will be annihilated (that is the more correct term than “destroyed”), which means they will utterly cease to exist. That is JW dogma.

I STRONGLY suggest, if you have not already done so, to read the short articles Catholic.com offers on the JWs:
catholic.com/library/noncatholic_groups.asp

They often twist or don’t quote all of Scripture, so their arguments often come off sounding good at first but upon careful examination are very problematic.

Some major doctrines which JW teach that are easily disproven from Scripture:

1. 
   *]They teach Jesus did not Resurrect in a physical body
   *]They teach Jesus is Michael the Archangel
   *]They teach 1914 AD is when Jesus returned
   *]They teach the soul is not immortal
   *]They teach hell is not eternal
   *]They teach blood transfusions are abominable to God
   *]They teach only 144,000 will be in Heaven
   *]They teach Jesus is not to be prayed to
   Of course, the most serious error is they teach Jesus was not Divine (ie not God), but this takes a bit more work to defend (though still solid) than the above list (which are all easily disproven).

Basically…your inlaws don’t know…and neither does anyone else. Leave it at that.

the basic are they believe that when you you hare in “death sleep” that is to say your soul is sleeping inside your body in the grave awaiting the finale resurrection at the end of the world. If you are not saved " A JW" you don’t get woken up and your soul just does vanishes into nothingness.
