Will my generation (80's and 90's kids) be the one that ends abortion?

I recently read this intriguing report from Lifesite about the emergence of the young pro-lifers and how the advocates of abortion are retiring now. This makes me feel that my generation may be the one that ends this monstrosity. Being born in 1991, I hope that my age group will be the one that corrects the mistakes of the baby boomers and their predecessors.

Abortionist killed their children that they had direct influence over. However, they - through such things as sex education programs - health care programs that support abortion as a convenience…have perpetuated their legacy

If health care WAS Health Care…there would be no need for abortion except where the mother’s actual psychical life was at stake.

The culture of death for convenience will stay as long as sex education and health care are overseen by these people

I was a teenager in the 80’s and it was said back then ‘its nothing but a blod clot… it isnt a baby’. I dont hear that anymore… so I am hoping and praying education will end the murder.

It’s entirely possible. I wouldn’t be surprised if the U.S. Supreme Court held within the next 10 years that access to abortion is not guaranteed by the Constitution. Then the individual states could start to outlaw it, in whole or in part. I would expect Utah and states in the “Bible belt” to be the first ones to make it illegal.

We are trying.
But once the Health Care bills laws are in effect…that support abortion as a convenience - I’m afraid it will be harder than reversing Roe v Wade. THIS, was IMHO the main reason to oppose this health are bill.

I was born in 1990 and I have to say nothing I have seen says that our generation is especially anti-abortion. In fact i would say it is more pro-abortion. I can’t see it being done away with anytime soon

I pray you are right. My son, born in 1988, has gone with me to Washington 3 times for the March for Life. He has a friend who wants to go with us next year. It lifts my heart to see all the young people there. You are the best hope we have to bring an end to abortion. You will be our future doctors and politicians, teachers and judges, parents and reporters. You will produce our future presidents, who can make appointments that can mean all the difference in legislation and court rulings. I am 23 and a high school teacher, so I am a child of the 80’s teaching children of the 90’s.

The older pro-choicers were all about proving it was not yet a human. My students accept that the unborn are real humans, they just don’t care.

Narcissism is at an all time high. I hope you are right and that the passion and enthusiasm of staunch young pro-lifers will reach the self-interested apathetic worldview I witness daily.

By no means do I think all teenagers or twenty-agers are like this, just that there is way more of a princess (or prince?) complex and sense of entitlement.

I don’t fear an increase in abortions, just an indifference toward it. I don’t know if that is a benefit over those who believe it is a right or if it is worse to be so indifferent to evil.

That’s one of the most frightening things I’ve read in quite a while. But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. This is where the popular religion of utilitarianism ultimately leads – inconvenient lives are done away with so that the rest of us aren’t troubled by them.

Sadly, I don’t doubt most of what you’ve said.

However, you’ve only taken the pulse. It is easy to say cancer exists but to eradicate it one must not just identify it - but identify it’s cause.

Kids are following the lead set.

We didn’t let the culture of death or narcissism, to seep slowly - but insidiously into society - we are stepping into the society provided.

To change our generation - It is required of your generation to change - To change your generation it is required of your elders to help you, teach us. In short, we get the social values and society we promote.

As others have mentioned, the pro-aborts have essentially “aborted” the next generation of pro-aborts.

The Justices of teh SCOUS are old, and while some of them are pro-abortion, who’s raising the next generation?

I do wonder about Obama’s kids, growing up hearing rubbish like “a baby’s a punishment”.

But there’s bound to be more young pro-lifers in the works. I was born in 81, and I grew up in a strong pro-life family, I was adopted, so that added to my pro-life ethic, but back in the 80s and even early 90s the understanding of foetal development was lacking.

The other day my 7 year old niece told me about how “babies in ladie’s tummies have beating hearts when they’re only a few weeks old”.

That warmed the cockles of this old Lifer’s heart! (Being in the trenches against the pro-aborts makes you feel old!)

I do have great hope with our generation. I see a good deal of young people who have a zeal for life. However, I also see people that make me ask,“what can this generation be likened to?” People who see the problems that the baby boomers brought need to raise that awareness. Unfortunately, those people,hippie/radical liberals, are currently teaching us and many of the youth do not realize what they are being taught. They just take it for granted, but I have seen through the charade. I pray God only opens more eyes.

I certainly hope so! As someone else as mentioned, 1/3 of our generation is missing and was killed thanks to abortion. I hope that we will open the eyes of our nation and of the whole world to see the true value of human life! The right to life is the important fundemental right! It is above all other rights. Every single person is created in the image and likeness of God and should therefore be protected!

So, in the end I hope that we end abortion so that what happened to our generation will never happen to future ones.

I have to agree with you. Almost everyone I know is pro-choice, young and older alike. The baby boomers who did have kids are teaching their kids to be pro-choice. What I have seen is a trend to choosing life in the south where I live. In the north where I used to live, most did not though.

It would be interesting to see a true unbiased poll with a breakdown with more information on those who answer the poll. But I’m beginning to think it’s going to be very hard to find.

Currently here in Nebraska, we passed a law recently that will ban abortions after 20 weeks because the baby can feel pain.
