Will my husband's behavior affect my ability to serve in my parish"

My ex-husband has left me for a younger women. Does that mean that I can no longer participate in my church? I am a reader and visit the sick and my heart will be broken if I can no longer serve God. Thanks, Linda
 
Hi,

You didn’t do anything that would warrant your not serving in those ministries. This still holds even if he divorces you. However, unless your marrige can be annuled, the Church will still consider you to be married and you will not be free to date or marry some one else.
