Will my Mormon grandpa have a chance at purgatory?

I’m just wondering if Catholics believe Mormons can enter purgatory. My grandpa is about to go and he’s shared a couple of his spiritual experiences with me. ( I wish I could share these to make it easier for you to come to a conclusion but they aren’t mine to share ) I’m just wondering if you think God would allow Satan to give my grandpa these experiences because he chose the wrong church or if you think these could’ve came from God even though he was baptized in the LDS Church. I don’t even know if I’m posting this in the right thread, I haven’t been in a catholic church yet but it’s the church God has led me to. Tonight will be my first time going. Thanks.

The Catholic Church teaches that in so far as your grandpa sincerely believed what the Mormon church teaches, and has tried to live a good life according to his understanding of what God expects of him, he certainly can end up in heaven.
