“America Needs Fatima” Ask for help in protesting these blasphemies!

Perhaps it is easier to list what is not attacked in this brutal ridiculing of the Catholic faith. The production is called “Jerry Springer–The Opera in Concert” and on January 29 and 30, it will be performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
The musician “opera” defies description in detail since it contains so much profanity, nudity and blasphemous content. Some examples include:
Code:
* The crucifixion is mocked and the Eucharist is trashed
* There is a lady singing “Jerry eleison” (mocking the Mass: Kyrie Eleison).
Please check it out!

I’m glad you posted this! I was cast in that show and I turned it down. I was conflicted over it because it would have been such a good opportunity for my career… just couldn’t do it. Colleagues made me feel like I made a mistake, that I was taking it too seriously, but your post strengthens my decision. I’ve said before, these days theatre and Catholicism is like oil and water, it’s tough… it’s really tough. But we’ll keep fighting.

St. Genesius, pray for us.

The best thing we can do is IGNORE this. Without ticket sales it will close early and not be seen again.

I’m afraid I have to disagree with this response. I really feel that shows such as this are the world’s way of crying out for what we as Christ’s Church have failed to give them. I find it so interesting that during the past 40 years, when the Church has gotten weaker in its message and not bringing the Eucharist to the world as we have been commanded to do, the world seems to have actually grown angrier with us!! It seems to me to be like the kids with parents who gave them all the things they wanted, but never gave them the love and discipline that they really needed. And instead of loving their parents, they kids end up hating them.

I live in the city and I am definitely planning on being at the rosary vigil tonight. I will be praying for all those involved in the show and attending the show, but I will also be praying for the Church, that we can be awakened to what we have been given, the spiritual richness that we have in such abundance, and then be empowered to give that out to the world, this poor, sick, spiritually impoverished world that needs our Lord so badly.

Events such as this one at Carnegie Hall, the blasphemies that occurred in San Francisco last year, and all the other horrible ways in which the world profanes our Lord are wake-up calls to us that must not be ignored.

 Well since i am at work,i can’t check out the link, but may go to the public library and do so.
I don’t understand the point of this thing anyhow. Why mock the cruxificion and Eucharist.Jerry Springer is jewish if I recall,so they should be mocking the Torah and Jewish customs.
And I have seen the tv show, and you would think it would have people singing 'I slept with my wife’s sister and our baby sitter’s a teenage hooker"! The show has nothing to do with the Catholic Faith.
I once wrote a poem about his show and if I can find it,I’ll post it.

Wow! Never thought that far! Interesting point. Good thinking through on this. Not just that it’s happening and if we ignore it it might go away, but some of the “why’s” as to these blasphemies. Yup, a good place to start would be a clean up of the heresies in Christ’s Church. The watered down teachings have caused a crisis of a serious nature in The Church and the results are everything from false teachings to lukewarm apathy in the clergy and in the laity as well. WE need the Holy Spirit’s presense once again in our Church so that it might help permeate society, and bring many souls to Christ.

Father forgive them for they know not what they do!
