Will the real Sola Scriptura please stand up...

Because there are so many “versions” of Sola Scriptura (SS), would the non-Catholic Christians here please submit your defintions of what SS is?

I’d like:

Luther’s definition first (some Protestants have said that Luther “didn’t” create it, so whoever you think did, then give us it’s creator’s definition).

Then, list your denomination and “your” version (I’ve heard that most Protestants don’t adhere to what the inventors of SS proposed initially and that they have altared SS to fit into their particular denomination).

That way, we can get all the confusion out of the way when Catholics discuss SS with Protestants.

Luther did not invent “sola scriptura” but it started way back in the book of Genisis. When God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the devil had been kicked out of heaven and was also on the Earth. The best defense that he could give Adam and Eve against the Devil was his Word. You see, God is infinite
and knows the end from the beginning, so thefore his first decision is always the best decision.

Thats why the Bible says he doesnt change, because for God to change would mean he had to think of something betterand thats not possible. God told them “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the treeof the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest there of thou shalt surely die” But when Eve was tempted of the Devil he got her to disbelive the Word of God and brought down her defense.

So now Jesus comes along and is tempted of the Devil, what did he do? Im sure Jesus could have used his power aginst the devil if he wanted too but he used “sola scritura” proving that the weakest christian’s best defense against the Devil is the scripture.

4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
