Will the world try to force the teachings of abortion, same sex marriage,... to the Catholic Church?

Uh-oh. Now ya done it. You had the nerve to equate “consensual” sins with “nonconsensual” sins.

Didn’t you get the memo? There’s a difference. Duh!
However, abortion is non-consensual on the part of the one being killed, and depriving a child of his mother or father is non-consensual on the child’s part. And having a social policy which makes having two dads the same as having a mom and a dad is surely non-consensual on the child’s part.

Persecute is a strong word. The United Nations is not going to burn Catholics at the stake for refusing to support abortion.
The United Nations may not but the people who support abortion and so on might. Don’t kid yourself we are in a war. It is a different kind of war yet it is still a war.

This is why the church cannot fill its pews. This is why abortion prevails. This is why Homosexuality is prevailing. This is why the Catholic Church is failing. This is why Catholic Schools are closing. Turn the other cheek? Go ahead sit back and let them use your religion against you. Let them tell you how unchristian you are for not tolerating their behavior. Let them tell you to hate the sin and not the sinner. Why must we be forced to live amongst their sins. Why must our children be forced to witness their repulsive behavior. The Catholic church has failed you because you allowed it to fail you. You do not hold your leaders responsible nor do they hold you accountable. Pacifist sheep who wish to have peace without war. First they tolerated divorce, then sex before marriage, then anti-miscegenation, then abortion, now you stand silent and still while they force you to accept gay marriage, and gay adoptions. You tell yourselves the lord will prevail. You expect the Lord to do all for you. You fail him everyday you lay down your sword. As soldiers of God you have failed. Weak in the heart, faith, and mind. I do not single you out as Catholics for it is all of Christianity that has failed the Lord. Misinterpreting the Bible to have peace before it is earned. There must be war and hell fire before a thousand years of peace shall reign and none of you deserve it!!!

The further the tyranny of secularism and progressivism and its ideas of “indiscriminateness” expand, you can be quite certain that any idea or institution which claims a contrary morality against that morality of indiscriminateness you can be quite sure that they will attempt to subject the Church to their ideology, by force if necessary.
You people need to learn a very common concept among activists: One person’s rights end where another person’s begin.
If they TRULY start making you DO these things you find morally objectionable, then I will be on your side in a heartbeat. But demanding you get YOUR religion out of THEIR lives is not forcing YOU to do anything.

In that case I would like to return my mother. I don’t like her and I didn’t choose her. Can I have a new one?

Prostitution is also consensual, but we still have laws against it. There seems to be inconsistency.

One thing I’m confused about is why are other Christians (even other “Catholics”) not against artificial/abortifacient contraceptives? It’s bad enough that governments, political parties, the media, and deluded individuals are pushing their agenda to further artificial/abortifacient contraceptives among all populations. Do people enjoy the strong chemicals and estrogen that seep into our water supply from all the urine or people dumping their medication into the toilet?

The Catholic Church seems to be the only organization that takes a strong stance against these issues. I was hoping more “traditional” churches like the Eastern Orthodox Church would have sided with Catholics with regards to “no more artificial contraceptives” but instead allows Orthodox the choice of using artificial contraceptives or not; I have lost all respect for the Orthodox Church. But to be honest that’s no surprise; it’s just one more organization added onto the list for those who support such things.

I know contraception is only one issue but those are my thoughts at least. It’s bad enough we have the “secular world” pushing the Catholic Church into changing Her teachings on such issues; it’s even worse that we have Christians and other “Catholics” pushing such issues against the Catholic Church.

But the problem is that your form of “activism” is NEVER applied consistently.

Such as when liberals (like I assume you are, I could be wrong), impose your “rights” onto unborn humans through abortion.

Which means that you’ll most definitely negate the rights of believers, by force if necessary, to advance your so-called “rights”.

Morality is not subject to your value opinions about what you’re “rights” are. Nor do you reserve the “right” to make the claim of bestowing the term “rights” onto behavior which is objectively immoral.

Homosexuality is not “good”. It is in fact abusive physically and self-destructive emotionally and spiritually.

The bottom line is that it is a fact that it is better not to participate in homosexual acts that to participate in them.

That is not “hateful” to people who have such predispositions, nor is it “imposing” anything.

The only reason why someone like you would call it such is because you know it to be true, and thus are rebelling against your own conscience.

I personally have no issue with a woman deciding to suck a man’s cock for money if she does so with safety. NONconsensual prostitution however DOES exist, through and that sh•t is screwed up.

I’m actually against abortion in the third in second terms. In the first few weeks though it’s far more an issue of religion.
Abortion involves deciding where something becomes a human. I personally don’t think we can say so objectively without a heartbeat and brainwaves since the lack of those is what makes a person dead.
The issue of homosexuality is you desiring to make something illegal between two consenting adults because of your beliefs.
Also I AM NOT imposing on your beliefs unless I MAKE YOU HAVE AN ABORTION!!! This is like a baptist accusing other people of imposing on their beliefs because those other people drink alcohol and one is able to purchase alcohol.

This is my point exactly: consistency.

“What makes a person dead” doesn’t change the fact that the person is a person ontologically.

Humans are the only being in existence that your line of reasoning is applied to. We never hear anyone in your camp argue that when something has the chromosomal makeup of a dog, a cat, an elephant, or even a primate that they are not ontologically that form of being based only upon an arbitrary line we have drawn in their development. Their being consists in the fact that they ARE what they are no matter what stage of development they exist in.

This idea isn’t even applied to astronomy when scientists are so desperate in their search for “life” on other planets that the smallest single-celled organism is called “life”.

Yet when it comes to human persons what is considered by you to be a “person” is not based upon what we are ontologically but what you arbitrarily define as “life” for no other reason than to dehumanize so as to justify killing it.

Does it have the chromosomal makeup that it will become a human person? Does it have 23 chromosomes from a human father and 23 chromosomes from a human mother?

Then yes we can absolutely say that it is objectively a human person, regardless of your arbitrary and imaginary line.
The issue of homosexuality is you desiring to make something illegal between two consenting adults because of your beliefs.
That more than one person consents to doing something wholly against their nature doesn’t make it licit.

If a 40-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl are having “consensual” sex it’s still called statutory rape.

If a man is beating his wife, even though she “consents” to it by refusing to press charges, its still spousal abuse.

A woman selling her body for money or drugs is still prostitution, no matter if she and the “johns” she has sex with “consent” to it.

“Consent” is not a valid point of criteria for morality, period.
Also I AM NOT imposing on your beliefs unless I MAKE YOU HAVE AN ABORTION!!! This is like a baptist accusing other people of imposing on their beliefs because those other people drink alcohol and one is able to purchase alcohol.
That’s an absurd argument. It hardly matters if I have participated in an abortion or not, you’re still imposing your beliefs.

Just as during the Antebellum period in 1800’s those in the North had the idea of slavery imposed upon them by Southern democrats, even though they never owned a slave in their lives.

Yet the very same arguments that they used to endorse slavery, the dehumanizing rhetoric towards African-Americans, are the same arguments that people like you use in favor of abortion;“they’re not really human”, “you don’t have the right to impose your beliefs onto us”, etc.

“Freedom” doesn’t grant you the license for you to do as you please. It’s the responsibility to do what you ought.

It doesn’t grant you the right to commit immorality, nor does it free you from having the truth “imposed” upon you.

OK just so you know, they’re is a distinction between “life”, any organism, and “life”, human life protected under law.
A dog stem cell is not a dog.
A human stem cell is not a human.
The reason you never hear this argument applied to animals is because this issue doesn’t apply to animals.
If a 40-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl are having “consensual” sex it’s still called statutory rape.
You must have missed this, allow me to clarify:
Consent between two consenting ADULTS!
That’s an absurd argument. It hardly matters if I have participated in an abortion or not, you’re still imposing your beliefs.
Then my very existence, as a pagan must be an imposition on your beliefs.
Just as during the Antebellum period in 1800’s those in the North had the idea of slavery imposed upon them by Southern democrats, even though they never owned a slave in their lives.
Funny you say that. Slavery wasn’t an imposition on Southern Republicans. It was an imposition on the people enslaved. Therefore gay marriage isn’t an imposition on you, but lack thereof IS an imposition on THEM.
This is an excellent point against the argument against abortions, but it still isn’t an imposition on YOU. It’s an imposition on the fetus.
It doesn’t grant you the right to commit immorality, nor does it free you from having the truth “imposed” upon you.
Which is why we don’t eat beef or pork, or drink alcohol and it’s why premarital and sterile sex are illegal. Oh wait, no its not! Morality is pretty dang fuzzy.
Its only clear if you use only YOUR religion. But this is a secular country.

According to this article in First Things most recent issue, both “heterosexuality” and “homosexuality” are rather recent constructs. There were always men and women, of course, and there were a variety of sexual acts, some approved, some disapproved. People participated in such acts, but they were never described by their “sexual orientations.” That idea is something new.
But they will be judged by it, ask the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. God Bless, memaw

This says everything about the state of education and critical thinking in this cointry.

This also is true evidence for the truth of the Church in it’s teaching on the effects of sin on humanity.

There apparently is no such thing as the law of non-contradiction anymore.

It’d be funny if it wasn’t so tragically sad.

I always felt the issue was more that two guys came to the city and the first thought of the people there was “Hey let’s RAPE them!”

Would you like to elaborate? I don’t see how this is erroneous. A seed is not a tree, it merely has the potential to be one.

Why do you think God spoke to Abraham about destroying it in the first place! God Bless, Memaw

Because they were violent and selfish? I highly doubt it was because they liked it in the *ss.
