'Will there actually be a time WITHOUT the Eucharist?'

I wasn’t sure what Forum to put this topic in, but being that the comment was made about the Eucharist, I’d put it in here.

About three weeks ago, I was listening to EWTN and the program by Colon Donovan The Last Things in Time and Eternity . Colon stated that during the Great Apostasy, there will be a time that the Church will ACTUALLY DIE like Chirst and come back in Christ’s Glory in His Second Coming. Colon also stated that during this time, the Eucharist WILL actually CEASE to be given out. I can’t imagine a time when this could happen!

Maybe, just like a tree or plant before it dies, gives off great beauty in it’s year before it dies the following year. Are we entering a ‘Springtime’ of great growth before the ‘death’. of the Church and the administering of the Eucharist?

I wonder what proof does Colon use for this statement? Are there any Church documents that state this or did Jesus state this in a prophetic statement in the Gospel?

Approach the Eucharist with ‘fear of God AND with Faith’!

Hello

For somehow I cannot see that happening myself, the faith in Eastern Europe is growing after communism. If people keep on attending mass and praying I cannot see things ending.

I am in my early thirties, I probably see changes to this world no doubt but not the end.

The fate of America and Western Europe is in God hands like the rest of the world.

Jesus said “I am with you ALWAYS- even unto the end of the world”. I don’t see there being a time without the Eucharist. There may be a time when the church is persecuted so much, it has to go into hiding- like in the Roman times- and we won’t be able to have Mass very often- and each time we do could be our last. I have never heard anyone say this before.

I envisage a time without the Eucharist. In a world where abuses and sacrilages are commonplace I think we need to experience a deep loss and a time without Him before we actually understand what it is we had and took for granted.

I hope I don’t experience it, but I certainly envisage it.

That’s how the wheat is separated from the chaff. People who don’t understand what makes the Catholic Faith so awesome will leave. Those who do understand will stay, and each Mass- while they may be few and far between, will be celebrated and assisted at as if it were their last.

It probably borders on pointless speculation one way or another. Don’t let your ear become ticklish. Also, any day you don’t get to Mass, make a spiritual communion. Look for spiritual communion information on the net. In the most horrible dungeon, under the worst conditions, you could still make a spiritual communion with Our Lord, cujus amor pro nobis proteget et salvabit.

IF this is true, the spiritual communion you mention, then why would Colon Donovan say such a statement that I sommented on when I opened this discussion?

If Colon Donovan is making statements like this, then EWTN better look into it or find another Head of their Theology Department.
