Will there ever be peace on earth?

alright so yesterday a couple of door to door christians came to my house and asked me the question do you think there will be peace on earth. I said I hope there will be. they responded by saying the bible says that there will be peace on earth. They ask if I would listen to the word of God I say yes. Then they read me this

[BIBLEDRB]Psalms 37 [/BIBLEDRB]

I don’t know the exact verse they qoute but I think I remember the psalm number. I just know the verse said God will remove the wicked from the earth. Something along those lines.

They called it prophecy, and by this they say the earth will have peace on it one day becuase the bible tells us so.

So my question are these people correct will there be peace on earth one day?

If there will be any guesses on when it will come?

please back up with scripture or sacred tradition\

For some reason my bible has 40 verses and this has 23 anyone know why?

As long as their are humans, in their fallen nature, there will NEVER be peace on earth. That does NOT mean we have to give up, but it does mean we have to be realistic. We, as humans, can’t change our fallen human nature.

Your last post quotes a verse that has been interpreted as say that, in the end, good will conquer evil. Satan will not win.

That does not mean - prior to the 2nd coming - all of mankind will live in peace on earth. The other poster on this thread is correct - as long as man is the creature that he is, we will never have peace.

And as I was typing this, the following thought occurred to me: What, exactly, is meant by “peace”? Does it refer to the absence of wars? Does it refer to the Utopian society as contemplated by St. Thomas More?

I can tell you from first hand experience, I have never lived a week of my entire life - and I am about to turn 48 - where I have not had at least ONE worry about someone or something in my sphere of existence. To me, that is an absence of peace.

For me, I consider peace to be a state in which my mind and heart no longer have any worries about anything . . . and I don’t see that happening while I am alive

In Matthew Jesus said there will be wars, rumors of wars, and natural disasters and that such things must happen right up until the end times. This is a fallen world and will never be at peace. This forum is seldom at peace and almost all of us are Christians.
