Will We Remember Those We Love In Heaven?

Does anyone know if we will? Does the Catholic Church teach, or say anything about this?

Why wouldin’t we ? If Heaven if communion with God…and we know how “in communion” the father, the son, and the spirit are to eachother…how much more will we “know” and love eachother in heaven ?

We’re called to live out this relationship now on earth as best we can…we are united into one body in His body we eat and we have the same blood coursing through our veins as we eat and are called to be united and to love one another as Christ has loved us…just as Christ Loves His Father and remains in His love.

If you read the discourse of the last supper in Johns gospel it really goes over this idea of the love of the trinity and their communion and Jesus asking us to enter into it!.
 
The Italian Dominican St. Thomas Aquinas (1225 - 7 March 1274) teaches in his Summa Theologica that a spirit which enjoys beatific vision sees in God all things pertaining to itself.

S. th. III:10:2:
For every created intellect knows in the Word, not all simply, but so many more things the more perfectly it sees the Word. Yet no beatified intellect fails to know in the Word whatever pertains to itself.

To think that we suffer from amnesia in heaven is original but unorthodox! It would mean a partial loss of identity which is inconsistent with the fullness of life…
 
This is an interesting question, because there might be people we love who will eventually end up in Hell. I think that somebody who is going to Heaven will not love anymore the ones that end up in Hell…

👍 That is inevitable because there is no point in loving those who are totally self-centred and don’t love anyone but themselves…

1 Cor 7:14-15

14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy through the brother. Otherwise your children would be unclean, whereas in fact they are holy.d

15If the unbeliever separates,* however, let him separate. The brother or sister is not bound in such cases; God has called you to peace.

and

Mt 22:30-32

30At the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like the angels in heaven. 31And concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you* by God, 32h ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.​

If we pray for the world, the world is saved. Is caring for, or loving only yourself really the same as rejection of God. What about people who have been taught that the self is God. Or who are too hurt to love another…abuse, neglect, persecution, etc.

In Heaven, we will love people the way God loves them. This is what it means to be in the Father’s house.

God loves everybody; so we will too.
