Oh my, here it goes…GEAUX SAINTS!!!
scof scof, clearing throat now

😉

My husband’s family is really into football. Like, obsessively. My husband are really in to Star Wars and Harry Potter. Like, obsessively. Star Wars/Harry Potter people and football don’t mix 😉
OMG…I disagree 😃 I’m hugely into Star Wars/Harry Potter/Twilight/Gaming/Nerdy things and I still love me some football. 👍

Oh and just because we aren’t rooting for the Football Saints, doesn’t mean we don’t love the Catholic Saints 🙂
Honestly, I would be okay if the Saints won. It would be great for NOLA! But I’m a Colts fan 😛

I am shocked at the number of people that are not pulling for the Saints!!! You call your selves Catholics!!! I once was asked what I thought about saints, I answered that I was all for being a saint. Let’s go folks, support the the Saints and … work towards you own sainthood. God bless everyone on Super Bowl Sunday and I hope everyone enjoys their parties.
I personally think that God’s on the side of the Colts this time. 😉

:yeah_me: Go Colts!!!

Normally I do not care, but as a COLTS fan of course I will be watching this weekend!!!

well, so many people DO have an obsessive interest in it that it piqued *my *interest! 😉 the stories people have told about their parties and watching it for the ads and half time show brought back some good memories, though. super Bowl parties are definitely fun, even if it’s just an excuse to hang out with your friends and family. 👍 We haven’t been invited to one this year… if we were invited to one, depending on who the invite was from, we’d prolly go and enjoy the company. 😃
bah! My hubby and I never get invited to those. We are so bored, and I make sports faux pas constantly. When our local team went (Seahawks) I withstood watching the game. My school loaned property to them for practice so I got to watch them practice from my back porch. Anyway, I’d been to football games (all of them!) in high school since I was in pep band, but never paid attention. I just knew when we heard “FIRST DOWN!” We had to stand up and play. Anyway, When I was watching the game I kept asking questions to figure out how it was even played. Then I asked what a first down was and was told it was when the team mackes a certain yardage gain. I then said “Wow, that’s so great that they give them litle goals like that!” My dad dropped what he was eating and STARED. My husband leaned over and whispered in my ear “Honey, you’re sweet, but even I know better than to say something like that…”

Now I don’t even get invited to my parent’s superbowl partes! 😉 LOL

Instead my husband and I have Harry Potter parties. He’ll take the day off work whenever a new movie comes out, we’ll buy TONS of lunk food, wrap ourselves up in a big puffy blanet and watch the WHOLE series while eating junk food, then go see the new release. I think our parties are better anyway!! bwahahaha

Win or lose, it has been such a thrill for all of us Louisianaians for the Saints to have FINALLY made it to the Super Bowl!!!:p:thumbsup:

GEAUX SAINTS!! WHO DAT!!! WE DAT!!! BLACK AND GOLD SUPERBOWL!!!

:D:D:D

Just yesterday I was blessed to be able to get a new HDTV! Looking forward to watching my first NFL game in High Definition. I’m a Jets fan so am still smarting from the AFC championship, but this looks like it will be a pretty good matchup. I have to believe that Peyton won’t be denied though, but Freeneys injury should make it more interesting. Here’s hoping for a good game!!!

:rotfl::rotfl: what?? that’s hilarious, that not a faux pas! You dad should have chuckled understandingly, and agreed! because it IS true… they’re little goals to reach the big goal! 😛

That sounds like more fun to me, too. Only replace Harry Potter with the entire Jane Austin series from BBC. lol 😃 Usually the only reason I’ve had fun at super bowl parties is because I’m not the only one who’s profoundly uninterested in the game… 😉

ABSOLUTELY GEAUX SAINS!! Bless you Boys. May God protect all of the Saints and Colts players physically and spiritually and may the Colts receive the comfort of the Holy Spirit on their way back to Indy as the SAINTS come VICTORIOUSLY MARCHING IN!!!

It sounds like there are a lot of people who are really looking forward to it! 😃 I hope you all have a great time, and a good game, even if you end up with the losing team. 👍

We never know the SuperBowl is coming until it’s almost here - and then we just go online afterwards and download the best advertisements and watch those 🙂 They can be pretty funny!

I admit it took me a little by supprise this year, but my Tivo officially knows that the Super Bowl is coming 😉 It also knows it’s taking recording priority.

Football is the greatest sport in the history of humanity. Period. I weep when the season ends, which is usually preceded by wracking sobs when my Packers are eliminated.

Only good thing about this year is that I have the Olympics and World Cup to tide me over during the offseason and won’t have to rely on mixed martial arts or shudder baseball shudder to keep me sane before OTAs and training camp starts in late summer!

So… who ya rootin’ for??? 😛

By myself, (with one daughter) I will take in every second of the game. I gave up going to Super Bowl parties years ago. I don’t like anyone watching it with me. I want to listen to every comment during the game, and that’s impossible at a party. Yea, I guess I’m obsessed with NFL.

LOL, my priest used to have a Super Bowl party every year. I would go and spend a couple of hours pre-game with the guys at the rectory, then head home in time to ‘seriously’ watch the game.

As I’m writing this, I’m also watching the NFL Network and getting all the latest scoop from players, coaches, and referees. Yea, I’m addicted to NFL.

BTW when our Bishop found out last October that my daughter was entering the cloistered life soon, he wanted to meet with her. To both their surprises, they ended up talking NFL the whole time. AND, we’re Canadian. LOL.

I like the ads but I only know the ads from people referring to the ads usually. I was wondering when the Superbowl was because I heard about the pro-life commercial. I guess it’s this weekend?
