Hi ALL,
Recently I was on the computer and allowed my self to stumble upon a few people talking about the catholic church, and how it is not the lords church. One guy is a infamous conspiracy theorist named William Cooper( you might have heard of him). Here is the link I watched. youtube.com/watch?v=z2o74kqjsDM

And this next guy is the guy that has posted the testimony of the kid from two and a half men. He goes by the name of the forerunner777
Here is the link for him that I watched.
. youtube.com/watch?v=sGIDV42AKkA

I would like to get feedback from anyone who might have good knowledge in regards to what they are saying. Also what is true/creditable about what either of them said.

Thanks for your time!

forerunner is taking a simple phrase and stretching it past what it means for the means of his anti-Catholic agenda. He’s a Seventh Day Adventist, which is predominately anti-Catholic. There are no facts, he is just angry. He believes the Catholic Church to be the whore of Babylon. They don’t look into what Catholicism really teaches. They preach against what they think the Catholic Church teaches, of which is untrue.

The Catholic Church was, is, and will always be the one true Church founded by Jesus Christ. It has been steadfast for just about 2000 years (since it was established). It seems as though certain groups of Protestants believe Christianity didn’t exist until the 1500s if they believe that the Catholic Church isn’t the Church of Christ, let alone Christian.

Also, to save people some time, I would suggest pulling out particular questions from the videos since there is a lot wrong with their ideas and opinions.

WOW !!! Number one why is this forerunner guy screaming non stop it is very annoying he should stop yelling for a minute and breath I think the lack of oxygen is distorting his views. His hatred of the Catholic Church is fundamentally wrong… He is attacking the Catholic Church with hatred and contempt a true Christian would approach this with love and compassion. His thought process was very obviously hateful and evil. I will not even justify this guy anymore as I was very offended as a catholic by what this guy said so before I go down the same angry road he did I will back away and pray for forerunner that his eyes are opened.

That ForeRunner guy is like the Stephen A. Smith of the Adventist world! That video was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a REALLY long time. What a nutjob!

There is no credibility to what they are saying. If you’d like to discuss a specific part of either of their comments, you might want to post a specific question.

I agree with the last poster “Ahs” that you need to ask a question on those areas of the video that are a concern to you. Why would you subject us to viewing them?

I gotta tell you that in the olden days before internet, the Church had an Index of Forbidden Books to protect the faithful from reading material that could jeopardize their faith. How does the Church censor material now that is all over the web? She can’t, obviously. The obligation rests with you, as to what you allow your eyes to behold. If it was porn? Yes, you could become addicted to it. If it is anti-catholicism? Yes, you could lose your faith, or suffer with extreme doubts. Satan is not sleeping, my friend.

You did not just happen to stumble on two different sites, for the second is not listed in the side lineup on the right of the video. And now you want to expose the members here to this? Again, I ask that you pose your questions, instead.

Thank you for your answer! My apologies for not asking a specific question first. The questions I wanted to ask are listed below.

My apologies if I offended you and anyone else. I should have posted the questions I had before. But i did happen to stumble across both of them when I was looking at other videos one each of those two people. I will also rephrase my original question. But thank you for your feedback.

In regards to the William cooper commentary= I would like to know what is true/fact about what was said by William Cooper.

1.) I do have one question that is hard to phrase, but what I would like to ask is what in 2:00-4:45 of the William cooper video is fact/true and what is not.

2.) He says that Constantine(emperor of Rome) was a "pagan sun worshiper"even after he “professed a conversion to Christianity” and that history proves this. William goes on to say that Rome quickly went on to become the Catholic Church and the emperor became the Pope.

3.) William talks about how the Church made a compromise to be a part of the “pagan” world(7:30 to 8:30). And how the Roman Catholic Church is nothing less than the old Roman empire transformed and the old Roman Pantheon of gods became the Pantheon of saints.

Thanks for your time. May God bless all of you!

Be assured that you have not offended anyone - we just want to see you avoid these sites for your own safety.

With regard to your questions, what are your thoughts?
Do you believe any of it?
Have you not seen this sort of slanderous stuff before?
Since it is not a forum where you can respond in any way to them, what good will it do to engage us in research?
If you trust the Church, as you should, PLEASE stay away from this kind of trash. It only unsettles your mind.

Here is the rest of my question. Sorry it cut out befor I submitted.

(William Cooper) He tries to prove this by saying that the symbol of the double headed eagle is at the Vatican. Which is the symbol of the Roman empire and of the 33rd degree free masonry. (6:30-7:30)

In regards to the Forunner my question has already been answered and I think I actually have more questions to ask him whats the matter. But I started to wonder after watching it again. How can, and why do people like him and others say that the Catholic Church is the entity identified as the anti Christ power? How, what, and why do they even say these things? You don’t have to answer the last 2 questions but I just wonder how another denomination christian can hate other true Christians even though they choose to worship in another way. That looks and sounds like the opposite of what Christ did.

How, what, and why do they even say these things?
Wednesday’s gospel is fresh in mind, and it is good to remember Jesus’ warning to us:
Gospel Lk 21:12-19

Jesus said to the crowd:
“They will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents,
brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”

The ancient enemy is always at work in men to steal, kill, and destroy. Are you suprised at this warfare? Since Catholicism is the true faith, we will be attacked as often as the enemy can manage to do so. Perhaps these men are not fully aware of what they preach, but it has been taught to them, and they believe their crazy doctrine.

Just shake the dust and pay it no mind. If Satan can keep your mind in a turmoil over what these people put on the internet, he has won a minor battle, for you have no peace of heart wherein the Spirit of God dwells. 😉

Relax, have some popcorn and watch a good movie, instead. 🍿

HI Sirach,
Thanks for your concern.
To answer your ?.
My thought on the two (William Cooper and the for-runner) is that I personally think the forunner is crazy. And I was curious if any of what William Cooper was saying about the true Christians did not start the catholic church, and it was started by the Roman empire is true. That being said I would like to know what is really true and how and why the Catholic Church really started and who started it. To be honest that is why i asked the question. So someone who know the real beginnings and history of the church and the times could prove the comments wrong and explain what is true to me with detail. Or mention something I could read so that I could learn what is true.I know some information on it, but would like to know more.

Thanks for that. And I must say, you are right I need to examine what I watch and what I allow myself to stumble upon. And what I do with my time. That passage answers with everything I have been talking about. Thanks Sirach, all of your help and incite is appreciated. God Bless You

There are a few simple ways to deal with the William Cooper question.Constantine did not become the Pope. We know this because all Constantine achieved turned to dust. His Empire is gone. His city is gone. His royal dynasty is gone. That which comes from man is transitory. That which comes from God is eternal. The greatest proof the Church is from God is that it is here 2000 years after it was established.

Ok, there was a Pope Constantine.
Consecrated 25 March, 708; d. 9 April, 715;
newadvent.org/cathen/04294b.htm

But this is not the same Constantine. “When Constantine defeated Emperor Licinius in 323 AD he ended the persecutions against the Christian church.” I’m not sure this is a good source document, for I simply googled it, having remembered that he was involved in the Council of Nicea.

"(William Cooper) He tries to prove this by saying that the symbol of the double headed eagle is at the Vatican. Which is the symbol of the Roman empire and of the 33rd degree free masonry. (6:30-7:30) "

Why do crazy people think there is this secret anti-Christian, masonic, satanic, what-have you conspiracy within the highest level of the Church, yet betrays the conspiracy by stupidly displaying these examples of pagan art (that is in the art museums of the Vatican as a piece of history), or misunderstood symbols (like the upside-down cross that is supposed to be satanic, when it is actually Peter’s Cross upon which the first pope was martyred), or some supposedly satanic hand-gesture the Pope makes (because he has arthritis and it’s hard to hold his fingers straight, or maybe he is displaying solidarity with Texas A&M with a “hook 'em horns” gesture)?

Such actions would be like a CIA double agent within al-Qaeda who wears a U.S. flag on his sleeve and pledges allegiance to the U.S, flag when he is supposed to bow to Mecca.

How stupid are these conspiracy buffs? How stupid do they think the public is to believe this nonsense?

If this is supposedly a vast, secret, conspiracy of satanists/pagans/freemasons, why are they bothering to display all these symbols that let the cat out of the bag? To go “nyaa-nyaa-nyaa!” to the 7th-Day Adventists? To give a secret wink to their puppet co-conspirators? How does that make any sense at all to these people?

Karl Keating covers a lot of the conspiracy stuff in “Catholicism and Fundamentalism” and in a more personal manner in “The Usual Suspects”. In the former, he covers more general topics, where most “anti-Catholics” get their information, where the flaws are, etc… In the later he discusses particular people/groups and their specific or unique arguments.

The “eagle” is a new one to me. The most common “pagan” argument I have heard is that there is proof we worship the sun-god evidenced by an image of the sun at the Vatican. It’s a ridiculous claim on at least 2 fronts. First, just because I have an image of the sun on a window doesn’t mean I worship it. Many people display images of loved-ones in promient places…and it doesn’t suggest the worship of those loved-ones. Second, the “image” that is pointed out by the conspiracy theorists is indeed an image on a window at the Vatican…of the Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, with rays of light proceeding from it. Do we worship the Holy Spirit, One in Being with the Father and the Son (God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God…)? Yep. And He sure ain’t no “sun-god”.
