If you do a search here on CAF, you will see that there have been several threads and articles regarding Mr. Webster and his supposed “knowledge” of Catholicism. You can also use the search feature to find good articles addressing the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.

since you say you don’t know where to put your question, I would suggest apologetics if your question is on a point of Catholic Doctrine

use the scripture forum only to discuss a particular passage of scripture, book, citations, translation etc.

use non-Catholic religions of your discussion is mainly on a denomination or its founder, preachers, adherents, teachings etc.
 
I went to the website in the first post, and backtracked to the home site.

Webster is an ex-Catholic. The site links to such anti-Catholics as James White. Webster backs up his anti-Catholicism by citing various works by other ex-Catholics.

He is biased; everything seems to be from the point of view that it is fine to disagree with the Magisterium regarding a point of dogma. I.e., if you think the Pope who defined the Assumption of Mary as dogma was wrong, then you are right, and the entire Church, all her clergy and members, are wrong. (Note that he did not present any arguments in favor of the Assumption.)

So he basically says that, if you disagree with teaching, rather than trying to reconcile your ideas with the Church, you should quit.

I do agree with him on one thing. If you find you can’t accept the Church’s defined teaching, yes, you should quit!

Is it fair to label Protestants “anti-Catholics?” It would seem that we would then be “anti-Protestants”? Just a thought. And yeah, Webster’s stuff, King’s stuff, and McCarthy’s stuff is pretty weak most of the time.
