Hi all,

I am fighting with some of of my bad sexual habits from my childhood. Now I am 25 & still I couldn’t get rid of this.

One of the main problem that I am facing now is, I can’t concenterate on anything. I want to attend an exam, but after few days of continuous studying, I lost faith on me. Even I didn’t loose faith, I lost my life in Jesus and addicted to my sex habits again… It takes some days to get back to Jesus and it repeats …

But I want to give all this and start a new life… is this possible in one day ?

I feel that I am very weak & no self control… so I am easily addicted to bad habits.

phpBroker, I can tell you it is absolutely possible to give yourself over to Jesus and start a new life - I’ve done it myself! Okay, I’m still struggling with the same-old-same-olds, but I’ve taken tremendous steps towards being the best person I can be. Self-control was one of my huge weaknesses, too. It takes a lot of practice, a good support system, and a LOT of prayers to gain control. I have faith that you can come out of this a new person. I’m just one of many who have turned their lives around. I’m praying for you!

If you are referring to breaking old sexual habits? Probably not. If you are talking about accepting Jesus, and doing your best to follow him? Yes.

There is a reason for remaining chaste in single life- it makes it easier to remain free of future sins of the sexual kind. Past sexual experiences are powerful mentaly, years later those images and experiences remain with a person, and tempt one into doing bad stuff.

You have been forgiven for all that stuff in the past, but it may also be a cross for you to bear for a long time. I wish I could tell you it will be easy, but that would not be honest.

As a Catholic we know are held accountable for our actions. A promiscuious life in the past, can leave a big mess to clean up. You have all the tools at your disposal to gain control, you just have to know how to use them.
