Wine allowed in Islam?

brother injesur u r right.lol.and amy was ignoring all my messages lol it is also funny.anyway the work of satan will be the heavenly drink.cuz maybe allah will permit satan to enter heaven

What are you people talking about…

Alcohol is forbidden because of the influence it has on the person and because it is addictive…

Should all the drunk whores fornicating and the idiots throwing up on in your town centeres every week show this too you people…

In this world the effect of alcohol is clear and if you want to be alcholics and consume alcohol like fish and throw up, the please go ahead,…

We muslims refuse to indulge in this vile drink…

Personally I commend observant Muslims for their discipline in abstaining from intoxicants. However wine (in miniscule amounts) is an important factor in the Catholic Mass, so while I could quite happily give up drinking without looking back, I cannot support the complete ‘‘banning’’ (for lack of a better word) of alcohol.
 
with the recent fatwa, i can see Muslim scholars are begining the differentiate between alcohol and being drunk. Many things we eat and drink with large amounts can be bad.
 
Islam has 1.5 billion followers, you can just click your fingers, declare a fatwa and say automatically, that now small amounts of alcohol is allowed.

Muslims across the world will be in up roar…

To LDN I completely understand, I have english friends and relatives who drink they dont throw up, they dont go around fighting and using alchol as an excuse, And I would never keep you from practising your religion, in the way you see fit…

I am only pointing out, why sincere muslims dont drink, what the reasoning behind it is, why intoxicating things like drink or drugs which effect the way you think or act are forbidden in islam, why Satan can influence you so much more during the time when you are under the influence of drink, and why so many normal people become so unbearable when they are drunk, why so many normal women become whores or allow themselves to be sexually degraded whilst drunk, why good men become louts prone to violence when drunk…

Its easy talking about moderation BUT when you are talking about an addictive substance then at any time moderation can go out the window,.

In islam wine/alcohol is forbidden because of the effect on you, in paradise there is no effect, no throwing up, no sin, no effect on the mind,

Agreed. It is very easy to talk about moderation and alcohol lowers your guard against further sins. Most of the time I avoid it (this was not always the case), however I have now, praise God, learned to say ‘‘no thanks’’ when offered a beer in an inappropriate situation.

Actually, if you go and read the explanations about this, you’ll find that anything which can intoxicate in large amounts is also prohibited in small amounts.

"He quoted the rule derived from the sayings of the Prophet that if drinking a lot of alcohol makes you intoxicated then drinking a little is also forbidden.

Sheikh Qaradawi argued that any person who consumed a large amount of high energy drink would not become intoxicated, therefore they were permissible, even though they contained tiny amounts of alcohol. "

does it mean that drunkness is prohibited, not alcohol per se since high energy drinks contained alcohol?

Thank you for that! I was wondering about that particular rule myself because most if not all fruit contains tiny amounts of alcohol too.

But what if you say that a sip of wine won’t get you drunk–a lot of wine WILL, so drinking wine is forbidden because you can get drunk drinking wine.

But apparently you can’t get drunk drinking energy drinks.

It doesn’t mean that alcohol is allowed.

you mean you are not allowed to drink alcohol (wine, beer) but you can drink things that contain alcohol in tiny amounts?

That might be Al-Qaradawi’s fatwa. Why don’t you read it? I don’t have the advantage of being able to read it in the original language. Moreover, his fatwa doesn’t seem (to me anyway) to be applied broadly, but only to energy drinks.

I would feel safer avoiding everything with alcohol in it, altogether, myself. But I’m not a scholar. And Qaradawi isn’t the only scholar in the world either. You should read his fatwa though if you want details, instead of asking me.

i did and i concluded that alcohol per se is not the problem since it is allowed in tiny amounts but you seem not to agree with this simple logic.

how is it my opinion if a mufti allowed alcohol in tiny amount? if alcohol per se is absolutely forbidden, then not even 0.05 % should be allowed, even if its an energy drink…it would mean that energy drinks are haram!

it was not my intention to argue if he is right or wrong…i was just pointing out that to this mufti , alcohol is not the problem. Where he took his ideas from is another issue.
