Yes. Life is too precious to waste on cheap wine. Drink good wine.
Well said!šŸ‘
Issues of dependence and addiction aside, a four ounce glass of a good red wine is quite healthy for you. I’m partial to Merlots and Chiantis…but ignore the wine snobs, a good glass of wine is the one you ENJOY.

Hey guys,

Now that I’m 21, I like to have a big glass of cheap red wine before I go to bed. It makes me tired, it’s relaxing, I have gotten to sleep easier without pet peeves bothering me, I don’t get as anxious at the end of the day it seems, and if I wake up in the middle of the night it’s a lot easier to get to sleep. Is there sinful behavior in this? I like to get a little woozy but it’s right before bedtime and so I can enjoy more wine and then get to sleep easier.
There is no problem with it, just make sure it doesn’t become too much of a habit, because it’s possible even to become an alcoholic this way. You can get used to the wine, need more to get drowsy, then more and more. Also, it may start to be too hard to sleep normally, and you’ll have a dependency.

Nothing morally wrong, just be careful 😃

If it sinful we are both bound to hell 😃

You should check out the blog ā€œBudget Vinoā€ā€¦he’s got some good stuff on there. Just google it. He rates any wine under $10, I believe.

There is nothing wrong with a drink every now and then. But you seem to be drinking it as some sort of anti-stress relief which doesn’t sound to reassuring. Please don’t get addicted.

Alcohol is an energy killer, and the cause is probably as some one else mentioned, it keeps you from reaching REM(Rapid Eye Movement) level of sleep, which is required to refresh you.

At age 21, if you’re having problems sleeping and feel you need wine to help you, you should see a doctor.

When I was 21, I was in the Marines. I remember falling asleep with my M60, and a full pack on my back, as I leaned against a tree. I could sleep anywhere anytime. 😃

So what kinds of wine do you guys suggest? I am new at this game so I could use suggestions.
I am worried about your saying it helps you to get to sleep easier…

How long have you suffered from sleep related issues?
Are you depressed?

My husband is not 21 and you should just see how he can fall asleep with ease at Mass, in the car (yes, when I drive), while watching tv…
Of course, he is just resting his eyes he claims.

If I can chime in, I think you could also be inviting acid reflux problems by drinking a big glass of wine just before lying down. Something to at least ask your doctor about at some point.

The OP says when he drinks the wine he gets a bit woozy and im guessing that means he gets a slight buzz. Is that sinful?

two things that prevent sleep …

stress

and

going to bed too late. If i go to bed after, 11:00 I’ll be awake until about 2:00. If i go to bed at 10 I go to sleep much more quickly.

I agree with the others - do not use wine as a sleep aid; use it to enhance a fine meal.
