The only restriction I find for the wine that can be used at Mass is Canon 924, which says the wine must be pure and properly fermented, with no additives. Does that mean we can go get a jug of Carlo Rossi?

As long as it is naturally fermented, with no additives, and 100% grapes then yes. It is easier to just get sacramental win which is made according to the law of the Church.

Interestingly, apparently a type of grape juice is considered valid for Consacration, althoughly extraordinarily illicit and it uses the words “grievous offense.”
