My point would be that the USCCB document also calls it “juice” ( para. 5 , line 5) (although mustum would appear to be much more accurate for the purposes of identification/description).

As someone above already pointed out, it is the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, not bread and wine, and yes it is appropriate.

Repetition aside, I guess one good thing about a new thread on the same topic is that we don’t always have to read so much before jumping in.

If you saw no chalice on the altar then it is possible that a deacon celebrated “The Liturgy of the Word” and gave communion, only the Body of Christ as a deacon is not allowed to consecrate wine and bread into the Body and Blood of Christ. The Eucharistic prayer would not be prayed and the liturgy would go from Prayer of the People to the Our Father if I remember correctly.
