How is Wisconsin for raising a Catholic Family? What are some of your favorite parts? Thanks! Also if there are any other places nonWisconsin specific go ahead and mention them if theyre really good!

Well, I would say that most of the state is decent to raise a family in general.
Madison can get kinda crazy; the locals call it 30 square miles surrounded by reality
People can sometimes get carried away about the Packers.
There may be some rivalry between Lutherans and Catholics there, too.
But overall, it’s currently a healthy Midwest state.
I like the part of Wisconsin that’s on Lake Superior, and if you’re driving on I-94, there’s some really interesting rock formations.
The LaCrosse/LaCrescent (MN) area is also nice, but those roads running up the Mississippi River Valley hillside are probably tough in the winter!

Madison, WI always seems to come up as one of the best places to live and raise a family, in those business surveys.
My husband and I really like living in Wisconsin. We have lived here for over twenty years now.
There is always something to do here, and you don’t always have to have a lot of money to do it.
There is always some kind of free festival going on. The county fairs are also fun, if you like to go to those kinds of events.
We also have museums and libraries that offer activities for children, too.
We like the outdoors, so if you are an outdoor kind of person, there are many things that you can find to do outdoors, too. You don’t even have to be that active, to enjoy the outdoors here. It’s just nice to go by Lake Michigan here, and enjoy one of the many free parks and beaches here by the lake.
I think that if you have a family with children, you can find lots to do with your children, as many of these festivals are family-oriented, for example.
I live in a rural area, but I have gone to many of the different parishes in my area, and we have a mix of different families in all of them. You will see all different ages in the parishes–young and old alike.

I agree with him about the northern part of the state by Lake Superior. It is really beautiful up there.

Also, SuperLuigi is right–the La Crosse area of the state/La Cresent, MN area is very hilly if you decide to check out that area and drive some of those alternate roads, but it is very beautiful out that way. There are some very steeply graded roads that way, and you will see a lot of wildlife too, like deer and raccoons, depending upon the time of year that you go out that way.

I am not from Madison…however I do follow, with great joy, your fantastic Bishop Robert Morlino and his good works for the Church. I can only wish I lived in a Parish with a Bishop who had a love for the Latin Liturgy…November 3 the most Rev. Bishop Robt Morlino will celebrate a Pontifical Requiem Mass at the throne for the commeration of the feast of All Souls…I would love to be able to attend this Mass…I hope you great people of Madison appreciate what a gift you have in this Bishop…Pax

Well, what sort of job/profession are you in? What part of the state are you wanting to move to? Are you planning to live in one of the larger cities or in a rural area?
Just like every place else, there are pros and cons of each city, rural areas, and individual parishes.
Any place can be a “great” place to raise a Catholic family, and any place can be a “terrible” place to raise a Catholic family. I think it depends on the family, their goals, their situation, more than externals (which can change).
Don’t move to a particular diocese for a bishop or priest, they could be gone tomorrow.
Just like every place else, there are pros and cons of each city, rural areas, and individual parishes.
