It was made clear that government watchers would be present at parishes, in order to cite offending churches.

Neither article have links to the Diocese website/social media. Does anyone have something other than rumors?Public Health Madison and Dane County
And that’s fine if that is your choice and dispensation is granted but this is a religious liberty issue in principle. When President Trump made his statement to open up the churches, it wasn’t directed at religious leaders, it was directed at local governments.Even when masses open up to only 25%, I’m not hurrying to the Church
Actually it’s not…it is an issue of public health.this is a religious liberty issue in principle
That was one of the first things I tried to do too, nothing.I haven’t found a link either.
My sister and BIL went to Wisconsin for the races tonight…that’s a reason I wonder about the validity. The Governor was sued and lost to the Supreme Court about a week ago indicating that his extension of the stay at home order was unconstitutional and he had 6 days to open the state up.Anyway, I already said I’d pray in support of them since obviously I am nowhere near Wisconsin
If Wisconsin has specifically singled out churches to have a lower capacity than other businesses, (and a rather fast reading appears to allow other businesses to have 25% capacity and churches only 50 people) then there is a prima facia case of specific discrimination; the State would have to show specific public health information that would indicate that a church, which could seat 500 or 600 people would be less safe than any other business with 25%.Actually it’s not…it is an issue of public health.
Wearing brown shirts, no doubt. It was made clear that government watchers would be present at parishes, in order to cite offending churches.
So the attorneys can file the lawsuit in Federal court and the powers that be can defend their change. That is what courts are for,I’m not sure that’s ”targeting churches.”
Indeed. The churches are being treated the same as anyone else:yankeesouth:![]()

Seems a bit like wasting time and money unless there’s a lot more information missing that indicates churches are being treated differently than other places where people gather—but sure.So the attorneys can file the lawsuit in Federal court and the powers that be can defend their change. I’m pro protest. I don’t like the violence but I understand why it’s happening. Riots are the recourse of the unheard, we have a huge police problem and no one has any legal recourse too stop it.Are you pro-riot or pro-protest?
The point was more that complaining about the riots and comparing them too ones inability to go to church is insulting both to the victims and our intelligence. It’s not a comparable problem. How is staying home from church going to help what’s going on in a particular police district?
Put political pressure for police reform and deescalation training. Oppose the war on drugs as it’s a political tool that makes politicians looks good but sacrifices our minorities on the alter of “peace and stability.”If you know of a way that people several states over from the tragic event can help, please share.
