Does anybody know anything about the diocese of Lacrosse, Wisconsin? I know Archbishop Burke used to be there.

What’s it like now?

used to be very orthodox, I’ve heard. Now I’m not sure. Better then the Superior diocese(liberal…oh sorry “progressive”). 👍

Our new Bishop is Jerome E. Listecki. I have not heard or seen that he will be any less orthodox than Bishop Burke was. He has been traveling around the diocese quite a bit and seems to have been well accepted. In early September, he instituted a diocesan speakers policy to prevent wayward programs. In a letter to the diocese at that time, Bishop Listecki stated, “When we provide a forum for a speaker within our parishes or schools, the faithful have the right to expect that what they hear will be consonant with the teaching of the Church, and with the pastoral direction of the Diocese.”

With a weak background in Catholic history, dogma and faith, some Catholics can be too easily led astray by those speakers who are not rock solid in their faith themselves. I think that Bishop Listecki will continue the pastoral leadership begun by Bishop Burke.

I forget where Bishop Listecki came from. Can anyone provide any information?

He came from Chicago where he was an auxillary bishop. There’s more about him here: frpat.com/bishop.htm

The Diocese of La Crosse seems very solid. Coming from Los Angeles to here has been a real blessing.

Welcome to Wisconsin.
Did you get your cheese hat when you arrived?

Cheddarheads are earned, not given.

In 5 years in Madison, I never renounced Da Bears (though it was mighty tempting sometimes). Thus, I never got one…

Oops, off topic, wrong diocese…
