I studied theology and philosophy in college, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in theology. If I enter seminary with a Master’s in theology, will the seminary let me skip theology classes in major seminary?
Formation for the priesthood consists in more than academics. Depending on the diocese or religious order, you would probably skip some courses. But you would most likely take some supplementary courses. Certainly, you would not be ordained right away. You would probably spend some time doing ministry that doesn’t require ordination.
