Topeka, Kansas, Nov 10, 2018 / 04:08 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- The incoming governor of Kansas is looking for a way to avoid enforcing a religious freedom law protecting adoption agencies that place children only in homes with a mother and a father.

“If there is way to direct the agency to not implement that, then I will do that,” Governor-elect Laura Kelly said in a Statehouse news conference, according to the Associated Press.

Isn’t it a bit fascinating that the pro-abortion crowd say religious people don’t do enough for unwanted babies but when religious people try to do something, they face incredible challenges set up by the very people who are pro-abortion?

Well, she sounds like a democrat. As someone who grew up in Kansas long ago, I can only ask what happened to my native state?

Just reinforces my “never vote liberal ” policy! They’re always looking for a “way to avoid” anything that preserves religious freedom.

It’s still mostly a red state, but that doesn’t mean that everyone is aligned on cultural issues. After all, Kansas elected Kathleen Sebelius as governor before she became the HHS Secretary in the Obama administration. And the newly elected governor is further to her left.

Yes, sadly I remember when they elected Sebelius as governor. I moved away in 1978, but I still follow what happens there as best I can.
