Reading the headlines so far this week caused me to pause a little:

Supreme Court weighs on ruling for benefits to twins born from dead father’s sperm…
Idaho Senate approves mandatory ultrasound, bill goes to governor for approval…

Add to these, the ongoing debacle of the HHS mandates and the rest of the abortion debate, the debate over the safety of contraceptives, etc and it made me think. If we lived in the way that God intended, life would be a whole lot easier.

There would be no debate over abortion because it wouldn’t exist. There would not be a reason to debate whether babies produced from sperm stored in a sperm bank would be entitled to their dead father’s benefits, because that sperm bank would not exist. There would not be any concern about contraceptives, because there would be no need.

Murder? It would be gone, because we would all realize that we are God’s creations and would live accordingly. THere would be no need for gangs as everyone would have no problem referrng to their church as home and family.

Apple wouldn’t be figuring out what to do with $98B because a responsible, christian company would first have realized that excessive profits is wasteful, and second that it might have a responsibility to its employees and community.

This idyllic world is made possible by believing in God and spreading his love to those around us. Unfortunately, the few that have strayed, have prevented this from happening.

I wish it were only “a few that have strayed”. All this came about because people of faith accommodated the weak out of a false sense of kindness instead of standing up for truth. Once the idea was planted that we can’t interfer or tell others what they can do with their bodies, the floodgates opened to all sorts of sexual immorality and selfishness. We are no longer a Christian society, not even a pagan society, but apostates wondering what happened but unwilling to look into a mirror at our own compliance at the mess we’re in.

I wonder how long such an idyllic world would last. Probably not very long, because we would all still commit sins, even the most faithful. And, in addition, people have a tendency to find ways to quarrel with each other because they always have differences of opinion, even among the faithful. I think you’re really describing the way people might behave in Heaven rather than on Earth. Nonetheless, it’s a pleasant idea; only, please leave some room for Jewish people and other faiths in this utopia.
