With regard to Islam and Mormonism

I am not very educated with regard to Islam and Mormons, but basically it is my understanding that the angel Gabriel appeared to Mohammed and revealed certain things contrary to the Bible/Gospel and created his own religion( Joseph Smith did this as well, and I think the angels name in that instance was moroni)
I guess my question is…Since most of all the early Moslems/Mormoms were in fact Christians why didn’t they ever read St Paul’s letter to the Galatians
{1:8} But if anyone, even we ourselves or an Angel from Heaven, were to preach to you a gospel other than the one that we have preached to you, let him be anathema.

Just doesn’t make sense to me.

Simply put, they were never christians to begin with or conmen.

The first Muslims were Pagan converts. It was only after Mohammed’s death that his successor started forceably converting Christians by the sword (though mostly they could stay but with extra tax)

Muslims believe that the New Testament is a corrupted recording of Jesus’ teachings, especially St. Paul’s writings, so it cannot be relied on for religious teachings.

Can’t answer that for the Mormons, though.

This is not exactly correct.

One of Mohamed’s numerous wives was a former Christian turned gnostic then began to follow her husband’s teachings.

Also, many Christians were forcibly converted or forced to pay the infidel tax while Mohamed was still alive. After all why would Mohamend leave instructions to his followers to kill, convert or tax Jews and Christians if he had not been doing that himself already?

I have just finished The Book of Mormon. Several things stand out in it such as steel before it was invented. Horses, elephants and honey bees none of which was in the new world. The many great cities that were built of stone and cement which not a trace of can be found today. The millions and millions of people that lived in these cities and the great wars that they fought. The roads that connected all these cities. No evidence of any of things have been found. Also, in reading their book I was struck now and then by the usage of some words which I looked up in a dictionary. These words did not come into use until the middle ages and the book was written before and just after Christ. They have a lot of faith but left their intelligence at the door.

I have been in the Mormons temple not long time ago , I have noticed , that among the Ukrainian people who were converted to Mormonism , you can not find the ones who used to know their Bible well , before the conversion.
I mean among the converts , there are the people who never or rarely have read their Bibles.
