It shows you how modern Europe is compared to the US. The US prescibes barbaric practices while at the same time it is so technologically backward that it can’t actually make said tools for carrying out said barbaric practice.

Yes, it clearly shows the advancement of Europe that while we have insufficient drugs to execute the handful of guilty criminals we put to death each year they have a ready supply for use on the innocent who wish to end their own lives, or in many cases, the lives of those that others feel would be better off dead. Apparently it is now barbaric to kill the guilty but not the innocent.
