Witnesses & Easter

I know that Witnesses typically do not celebrate most Holidays, but do they celebrate Easter? I’m sitting at my GF’s house, whose coming home to Rome TONIGHT!, and she has Witness neighbors who are gathering in a celebration it seems. TIA

No, they do not observe Easter, it is pagan to them, as is Christmas, Thanksgiving, birthdays and many other things.

I believe that their yearly communion is coming up but I don’t know for sure.

The Memorial was held on Thursday night for JWs. This celebration of the Lords supper is the only religious holiday and the only thing they celebrate outside of weddings and anniversaries. It is a big to-do and up to 9 million attend (their are only 3 million witness) to listen to a talk and pass the emblems. Only 10,000 partake as only those with the Heavenly hope can – the remnant of the 144,000 spoken of in Revelation. The rest with the hope of eternal paradise on earth simply watch. It is held only once a year in accordance with the lunar Jewish calander date for the Passover.
