If you saw something like drugs being passed between two people,
you should call the police and report what you saw being done, and the location.
That will help them patrol the location, and keep that activity down.
If you know the person who did it, and are certain he was passing illegal drugs,
you can write him or her an anonymous letter telling them you saw what they did
and that you will report them, by name, to the police if they do it again.
That should scare the living daylights out of them.
You do NOT have to give names in this situation, and you could be putting
YOUR family in danger if you do.
As for witnessing a violent crime like a rape or a brutal assault or a murder,
and you know who the perpetrator was,
call in anonymously and NAME HIM or HER to the police.
I am one who believes that crimes against God’s Laws should also be reported, to the church. So if you see a parishoner having an affair with someone to whom they are not married, TELL the innocent spouse and TELL the pastors and deacons of the church.
Telling on people works both ways. In society and in the church…
