Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As we continue to seek to understand Mary, our Mother and Model, we listen to the words of St. Louis De Montfort’s treatise on True Devotion:
In consecrating ourselves to Jesus through Mary, we are renewing our Baptismal promises to renounce satan, and believe in God. We are called to grow in grace, even as Mary grew in grace. Grace is a participation in the Divine Life.
We are called not only to hear Jesus’ words but to do the Truth we hear, lovingly. “Behold your Mother” is spoken into our hearts that we might see in Mary all that we are called to be, by God’s Grace. Mary is our faithful Mother – Faithful to God and to us – cooperating with the Holy Spirit by her unceasing prayer for us to grow in holiness. St. Louis de Montfort encourages us to trust that God is continuing to bring Jesus, by the power of His Holy Spirit and through Mary, to live in us. We are His living temples. In us God dwells.
Let us pray for the light of the Holy Spirit to “see” in faith our Mother Mary. May we grow as she did in all the virtues she shares with her children by God’s design.

As we continue to seek to understand Mary, our Mother and Model, we listen to the words of St. Louis De Montfort’s treatise on True Devotion:
How Good God is to us! In creating us and in re-creating us in Baptism, He shares with us His very Life. In Baptism we are born again of water and the Holy Spirit. We have God for our Father and by the power of the Holy Spirit we have been given Mary as our Mother by Jesus’ words from His Cross: “Behold Your Mother”.
- God the Holy Spirit wishes to fashion his chosen ones in and through Mary. He tells her, “My well-beloved, my spouse, let all your virtues take root in my chosen ones that they may grow from strength to strength and from grace to grace. When you were living on earth, practising the most sublime virtues, I was so pleased with you that I still desire to find you on earth without your ceasing to be in heaven. Reproduce yourself then in my chosen ones, so that I may have the joy of seeing in them the roots of your invincible faith, profound humility, total mortification, sublime prayer, ardent charity, your firm hope and all your virtues. You are always my spouse, as faithful, pure, and fruitful as ever. May your faith give me believers; your purity, virgins; your fruitfulness, elect and living temples.”
In consecrating ourselves to Jesus through Mary, we are renewing our Baptismal promises to renounce satan, and believe in God. We are called to grow in grace, even as Mary grew in grace. Grace is a participation in the Divine Life.
