Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today is the “vigil” of the Beautiful Feast of Mary’s “Immaculate Conception” – the dawn of the Coming of Jesus Christ – Incarnate Son of God. It is so beautiful because it shows to all who have “eyes of faith” to see God’s Loving Kindness to us. He did not abandon us after the fall of our first parents but promised to save us. He said to the serpent in the Garden of Eden:
I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel.
God kept His promise in creating Mary our Mother – Immaculate from the first moment of her Conception in the womb of her mother. Through Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit Jesus who was conceived in her womb and born of the Virgin Mary, conquered death and evil, bringing us Supernatural Life whereby we too strike at satan’s head as children of God and Mary.

The union of Jesus and Mary is so intimate and unique, so powerful and unsurpasable that we can only hope to understand more and more throughout eternity. Still, we can be grateful to saints like St. Louis de Montfort, who prayed for and received much wisdom by the power of the Holy Spirit to grow in his understanding of Jesus through Mary. He wrote:
  1. If Mary, the Tree of Life, is well cultivated in our soul by fidelity to this devotion, she will in due time bring forth her fruit which is none other than Jesus. I have seen many devout souls searching for Jesus in one way or another, and so often when they have worked hard throughout the night, all they can say is, “Despite our having worked all night, we have caught nothing.” To them we can say, “You have worked hard and gained little; Jesus can only be recognised faintly in you.” But if we follow the immaculate path of Mary, living the devotion that I teach, we will always work in daylight, we will work in a holy place, and we will work but little. There is no darkness in Mary, not even the slightest shadow since there was never any sin in her. She is a holy place, a holy of holies, in which saints are formed and moulded.

Dear Greenfields,

Thanks so much for your “heart” – again!

This journey has been another great blessing in my life, and I trust God has likewise blessed all who read and pondered the words from Scripture and the words from St. Louis de Montfort’s True Devotion.

Tomorrow, God willing, we’ll be celebrating Mary’s great Feast of her Immaculate Conception. I pray many will thank God for His great gift of Mary to be our Mother and Model, especially by participating in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and receiving Holy Communion.

Some will have the joy of Consecrating themselves totally to Jesus through Mary for the first time or by renewing their Consecration. How pleasing that will be to God and to Mary and all the Angels and Saints in heaven! May God grant us that same joy on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Dec. 12. 🙂
