I’m rather tired of these giant corporations jumping on the “cause” bandwagon when in reality they’re responsible for so many social ills ranging from union busting to global warming. They’re not “progressive” and shouldn’t pretend to be.

I rolled my eyes when I learned that a bunch of them signed on to protest the Alabama abortion law. Two cynical thoughts came to mind.

First - wow! - corporations not wanting to accommodate pregnant women in the workplace? Didn’t see that one coming.

And second, if they’re so concerned about “reproductive freedom,” they’ll surely pull their factories out of China, right? You know, China . . . . that place with coercive abortions and family caps.

Soon just marching in the parade wont be enough. You’ll need to either become homosexual or at least engage in sexual relations with a homosexual in public in order to prove you’re not homophobic. Seems like the next logical step. Citing to your faith is not a defense. At least not if you want to stay out of jail.

Consider this as one step closer to implementing a modern day mark of the beast: “Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.”

Instead of having to carry around a labellus, companies and individuals will have to demonstrate their “woke” credentials. This shouldn’t be surprising to us.

Some Christians think we can reason with the other side. That’s a cute thought. In the very near future there will be swift and severe professional repercussions for those who deviate from the party line, whether inside or outside the office.
I disagree with this statement.
We all have a right to our own beliefs.
But I do not believe that compromise on various issues of the day is impossible.
There needs to be balance between conservative viewpoints and liberal viewpoints.
There needs to be balance between capitalism and socialism.
When there is balance, things go well.
When things are skewed to one side or the other, things do not go well.
Division and demonization are two of the worst things that can happen.

I do not know where you live, but I have never been pressured to accept any political. social belief, or lifestyle.
As for respect of other’s opinions, I see people on both sides of most issues trying to claim some sort of moral high ground. The demonize folks on the other side of the issue.
You, yourself, used the term “radical liberals.” So, because they are liberal in their politics, they are radical? Or is it that you disagree with them that makes them radical?
Ten years ago, the premise that we can agree to disagree without being disagreeable used to be the norm.
Today, we have political rallies where people not the rally are called enemies of this country.
Going back to the early days of this republic, there were arguments about various things. Should we remain loyal to the King or declare our independence? Those on one side of that argument or the other we not demonized.
Just some food for thought.

I worked for a government agency for decades. One day we had a visit from a team of “diversity trainers.” They asked everyone to pick out three factors in their background that showed our particular diversity. I was going to say I was just a product of western civilization which arose from Greek, Roman, and Judeo-Christian traditions, but that was definitely not what they wanted. But that’s pretty mild compared to the new corporate culture.
