I heard this statement during a conversation, ,
someone was insinuated as being a wolf in Sheep’s clothing, and I thought to myself that I too plus many others could be accused of being such a person ,
Would you think you as well could at some stage have this accusation against you,
And what are your thought of this statement,

From a Biblical perspective from Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
The parable shows there will be false prophets, who will appear to be followers of God. As we know the relationship will be short lived. The moral is that appearances can be deceptive.

Perhaps your prayers may yield some answers from God.

I suppose anyone can think of any good person in these terms. When somebody looks for the negative they will find it, as well as false hidden agendas. A negative spin can be applied to anything and anybody.

This statement speaks not only of the person in question, but the person making the statement. What would compel them to think like this?

So, yes, depending on who is judging me -I could be viewed this way at times, but it does not make it true. No one can see the motivations of the interior, only God.

The good news for me is that I have seen this the other way too and I know many people who appear to be wolves but in reality they are really sheep.

I like people who appear that way. They’ve followed Jesus’ words, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." Matthew 10:16 (NIV).

I suppose there was a time when I could have been labelled that way, although I would not have claimed to be a “false prophet”. Just someone who was somewhat manipulative in a certain context.

There are plenty of wolves in wolves clothing. But at least you know what they stand for.

Probably most of us have trusted someone that seems very trustworthy and can well recall that we have been burned by this. This is a good reason why Catholicism upholds the gift of discernment. I live in the Philippines and some people seeming very credible have started bad religious groups. One man in a neighboring city has declared he is the son of God, and even has his own daily-broadcasting television station, where great crowds of people are shown listening to him speak and a choir with beautiful music sing. We have to be careful to cling to the Church and what it says when such people appear in our lives, perhaps to harm our morals.

Very true, it does surprise me that some people follow anyone so easily ,
Can’t people see some people for what they are ?
I’m glad you can, God Bless
