I said on the Catholic news thread I already started about this yesterday that I bet the woman wouldn’t even be arrested.

I’m surprised it took this long to occur in view of all the recent unrest, as well as the number of street people who hang around down there. I note Fr. Gill saying they have these incidents quite often…yeah no kidding, I figured that. I wonder if they’re even planning to arrest the person who did it. I’m also disturbed by the lacksadaisical attitude of everybody in the video who seem to have just let the perp walk out after punching the lector in the face a bunch of times.

I hope at the very least this woman is barred from church property before she puts somebody in the hospital next time she goes on a tear.

Apparently the police decided she wasn’t mentally fit to be charged. OK fine. Are they going to put her in a hospital or institution where she can get mental health help, or just let her wander around randomly socking people?

The woman who yelled at a lector and punched her twice during Mass at the Philadelphia cathedral is not mentally fit to be prosecuted, a local journalist reported Monday.
