Are you talking about Qwertygirl? because her reason for saying it is gross wasn’t stated. I didn’t see anyone else who agreed with your particular definition of gross in this case, but it is a long thread.

Physical room, friend. The one I’m in that’s full of English teachers.

I’m pretty happy to see a man with his shirt off:)
Maybe women aren’t as visually stimulated as men to seeing “sexual parts”.For example I can’t think of any women that like receiving unsolicited “nude photos” from men of social media.
Generally though, women can be quite visual too and not just emotion or romance based.

We are in the 21st century it is necessary for both men and women to dress decently

The other one I’ve been told is western women and especially american women are very friendly with both men and women. As an american, smiling and chatting with a male coworker is nothing - I’m being sociable, no more.

Many other cultures that would be considered a very forward sexual advance.
Not in Saudi Arabia you’re not. You can’t speak to men you’re not related to and they can’t speak to you - it’s literally illegal. But yes, they see that on television and the assumption persists.

Most of the men I see out mowing grass with their shirts off…well, I’ll be kind and say not my type. 🙂

I didn’t see that in Fide’s posts. Seem like a overstatement but go ahead.

General statements that correspond to the way things are presented by the culture.

Repeated at women after they told him otherwise. That’s telling people what they think and a clear example of mansplaining and condescension.

How do you explain the attention from Jesus concerning lust in men for women, and no mention of the modern view, of “we’re all equal in lust”?
@seriousquestion; one of many refutation of women’s experience of their own minds ( that he himself proved silly moments later when called on to prove that the Bible also warns women about lust)

My long experience in being a man, for many years now, has taught me two things on this subject:
  1. women have no idea how men think,
  2. men have no idea how women think.
I seriously doubt that we mean anything even close to being the same thing, about the word “lust”.
In the same post where you admit to not knowing how women think you tell women what they think. Impressive.

No you didn’t.
This thread is RIFE with what Alex is talking about. There’s not enough room to quote all the quotes.

Ugh that quote left me so annoyed I literally couldn’t type a response.

Also amusing: admitting he doesn’t know how we think, and then turning around and saying he seriously doubts “lust” means the same thing. What??

I can’t really see what you are trying to say. The first quote just mentions that the Bible doesn’t say that the genders are equal in lust. The second one is what he gathered through his life experience and you were being intellectually dishonest. Saying it is gross is an overreaction of sorts.

Have you read the thread? I would recommend it.
