I was going to start posting quotes but honestly it’s a progression. You gotta read the conversation in context to understand the problem.

Yes I did, but from the derailing about potato sacks and 300+ posts that I am supposed to remember.

I can’t really see what you are trying to say. The first quote just mentions that the Bible doesn’t say that the genders are equal in lust. The second one is what he gathered through his life experience and you were being intellectually dishonest. Saying it is gross is an overreaction of sorts.
You seem intent to disagree. So you see all the other women telling you that this thing had happened? Try accepting that. Read the thread and if you honestly can’t see it then I worry about you.

Summary:

Women: We struggle with lust.

Men: No. It’s not a problem for women. It’s only a real problem for men.

Women: We struggle with lust.

Men: Maybe a little but Scripture doesn’t talk about it directly so it’s not a REAL problem for women but it is for men.

Women: We struggle with lust.

Men: Not according to this document.

I think you need to reread it and scroll past the potato sacks.

I don’t like the word, but it actually is the very definition of mansplaining.

I’m not a huge fan of the term either as I believe it’s often exaggerated but I believe it’s on display in this thread.

I was talking about something else and you derailed it. So I am being lectured on something that I didn’t say anything about.

Followed by the men them providing examples of said document providing warnings to women about lust! But somehow ignoring that their own logic, that as the Bible warns men of lust that it must be a thing, should apply here too. 🤔😒

It’s TEXTBOOK. I totally agree.
Me too. I try to avoid it in favour of “condescension”; but my word does the label fit here.

Off the cuff I also then remember someone commenting that if lust doesn’t apply to women, there’s a WHOLE LOAD of stuff in the Bible that would also therefore not apply to us - and yet we know that’s not the case.

First I was talking about QwertyGirl’s comment on Fides about them being gross, but than Alex jumped in and started saying they were gross and was talking about some other comments. I don’t really see a correlation between the two statements.

Friend, as I recall a woman said something was “gross”. You said it wasn’t. I said it was. It went from there and has remained on topic. Please just listen to what folk are telling you on this. There’s no shame in it.
