I got this photo from a nice lady who was trying to explain to her mom why she no longer trusts politicians who advocate gun control.

Any thoughts?

I’m not a gun owner or gun lover, but this makes a whole bucket of sense.👍 I think I’ll steal this.

I love it. Thanks!👍
Where do you find the bumper sticker?

Card/gun carrying NRA member,non-vegetarian, politically incorrect mom.😃

I love that photo; I’m going to show it to my husband.

We just purchased our first firearm this past week, and will be taking classes shortly, to learn how to use it. 😃

As a survivor of sexual assault, I’m glad we finally bought a weapon, and I can’t wait to get one small enough for my little hands (not to mention a good concealed carry, with permit of course).

We would all be far better off signing up for a GOOD self-defense class. The likelihood of being assaulted without a gun ever being involved is MUCH higher that the chance of being shot. The ability to discourage an attacker in the first place, repel an actual attack and escape unharmed is far more vital. Sign up~along with your friends or daughters…it’s one of the best gifts you can give yourself and women you love!!!

In my opinion, from the benefit of doubt and the allocation of burden of proof inherent in criminal law, it already follows that if an attempt at rape has been proven, it’s a very, very tough job to prove that the woman who killed that rapist wannabe did anything wrong. In my view, the statutes should clearly reflect this. Even if she was too trigger happy, she had the right to prevent the criminal event from taking place, period.

Now, as for no gun control. The woman is not the only one having a gun. Every 18 year old highschooler or 21 year old dude or whoever you make guns accessible to, will have a gun. That can mean three dudes with guns against a girl with a gun. That means many, many idiots will have guns, whereas normal people will often not feel the need to own one. That can actually help rapists instead of stalling them.

In my view, law enforcement should focus its attention where it belongs, i.e. the people who choose to shoot others for money or out of malice, leaving people alone if they mishandle a gun in self-defence out of stress or fear or even lack of skill or inaccurate assessment of the situation. The criminal already makes a choice when he attacks someone. There should be zero tolerance for those who attack others. Sure, they have rights too and you can’t just shoot them cold if you have a safe other way, such as blasting their kneecap off and holding him at gun point before cops arrive. But this doesn’t apply to rough situations in which you have to decide quickly.

By the way, no one should be forced to pay medical bills or any form of damages to his assailant or the assailant’s heirs unless there was sheer malice or paranoia, like an able-bodied man shooting a teenage mugger dead or people sniping at thieves or bullies. But if you blast someone’s kneecaps off in self-defence, you shouldn’t have to pay anything.

Unfortunately, it’s often hard to make the courts see reality.

This is why I am HUGE fan of gun ownership. I’m a fan of background checks and the like, I think those are necessary, and people should have to take safety classes but preventing ownership? NO WAY! And over my dead body would I EVER comply with paying someone’s medical bills, if the reason they were in the hospital was because they tried to RAPE me and KILL me or someone else and I put a stop to them because I was fortunate to have the means to protect someone else/myself.

It’s surprising to so many people that someone as liberal as myself could take such a stance, but one close call is one close call too many. Many of us ladies have to walk home at night for one reason or another. We shouldn’t have to be ashamed, treated like children, or be made to feel unsafe. Also, if I become a mom, you can bet that I would do what it takes to protect my kids, should someone break in and I’m alone with them.

If defense was always a bad thing, why do we have warrior saints?

women with guns! Whoo hoo!! 😃

Me likes the saying 👍

While unfortuanetly rape cases are dreadfully horrible, it’s downright AWESOME when the woman gets the upper hand, manages to get the man on the ground and holds him there at gun point. I can imagine the typical macho ego of the *man *to be obliterated or dominated by the woman. Go girls!!!

Well, since you mentioned it 😛

And this is just more evidence that you don’t have to actually kill someone to effectively use a gun for self protection.

TAMPA, FL – A Tampa woman refused to be a carjacking victim when she was approached by an armed man who jumped into her car on Thursday.

The woman, who only wants to be identified as Adrianna, pulled out her own gun. ** “I just leaned forward and punched him in the forehead with my gun,”** she said. The man **“screamed like a girl and almost dropped his gun” **as he ran away, she added. . .
By the way, police apparently have a suspect in custody 👍

People forget it’s not the gun that is so dangerous but the person behind it. I’m more of afraid of the all the crazy drivers out then then being killed by a gun anyway.

I second this, although I also have no problem with people carrying guns. I tend to be against gun control more from the “prevent the government from having a firepower monopoly” side of things. I believe that the price of freedom is eternal vigilence, and that includes our own government as well as foreign nations. I don’t think it’s an urgent threat - and I don’t think it ever will be, as long as we continue to allow legal firepower.

I stopped in the local gun shop on our town square yesterday, while I was in there a petite woman, mid 30’s came into the shop. She couldn’t have weighed 110 pounds. She knew nothing of guns but wanted one. The shop owner was there, and two of us customers. She sat on one of the stools at the counter and related the story of being beaten and thrown against the walls in her own home by an intruder. We stood in complete silence, dumbfounded that someone could take this woman, who was smaller than my 14 year old daughter, and beat her senseless in her own home.

By the time I left she had decided on a Springfield XD, in 9mm, with a laser assisted front sight. Good on her. She will be taking lesson in the shop at their range and the shop owner offered to teach her safety and gun handling.

Someday I hope to see her again, but next time I’d like to see her not shaking, not near tears, and with a smile on her face confident that she can protect her own life in the worst situations.

I’m so sick of people telling us women we shouldn’t defend ourselves if we’re raped, because we’ll “make him mad.” Or, “You shouldn’t kill or hurt someone because it’s wrong, just let him do it and be done.” OK, a guy is forcing himself on us, stealing from us, but even worse because it’s an invasion on our bodies, freezing us in fear, possibly giving us diseases/making us pregnant, putting us in a situation where the courts will rip our character to shreds and where our campuses will ask us to “keep quiet” because they’re more afraid of their own reputations than our safety, and I have to worry about hurting HIM??? Sorry, but if a bullet prevents him from doing that to another woman or to a child, I am absolutely OK with that. I should be able to go home from work and feel safe, to stay in my own apartment and feel safe, to go out with my girl friends and feel safe. I should be able to trust men to act like human beings and not savage beasts, once they get close.

Until that happens, I look forward to the day I can purchase my own weapon and get trained to use it properly. I will get a concealed carry-on and learn how to keep it as safe as possible. I pray I will never have to use it, but should that day come, I should be prepared.

I feel for that woman who was beaten in her house. I’ll keep her in my prayers and I’m glad she got that gun.

I love the picture and the message.

This is pretty much my stance on the issue:

in fact…I want this one! LOL!

I approve.

Everyone that has the courage to defend themselves spiritually should also have the courage to defend themselves physically, both with God’s will of course. I conceal carry every day; never gone off accidentally or anything weird that a lot of the loonies on the gun control side want to make people believe.

Always be on guard and stay situationally-aware to prevent even having to use it, but in case you have to, glad to have it.

Criminals always find ways to get weapons. I find that gun control advocates keep innocents defenseless.

It’s funny, because on most things, I am pretty liberal and I fit the stereotype so much, except I’m Catholic, pro-life and pro-gun. My excuse? It’s easier to defend life and human rights if you’re allowed the means to do so.

America= Cowboy land…

Make all arms illegal except for the few who have a licence to hunt.
There are other ways for women to learn self defence.
In my country in Europe owning a gun is illegal… I find that totally reasonable.

.
Laws only keep honest people honest. A criminal is a criminal because he doesn’t obey the law. What difference would it make? If you make owning a gun a criminal act, then only criminal will have guns. Sound reasonable to me, but not somehting that I would like.
