Read it here… argonautnews.com/women-are-people-too/

Subtitle “The primary message of Saturday’s massive demonstration in downtown Los Angeles was to reaffirm the Golden Rule

You can read the editorial itself, at the above link. But, I bet the march had NOTHING to do with the “golden rule” that set the standard for human conduct, in the Bible.

How ironic to throw around “loaded” phrases like the above, in the opposite or a sinister way sense.

The women’s march around the country was, as we know with all certainty, is that they were anti-Trump marches.

It shouldn’t be said that Trump doesn’t deserve some criticism for things he has said and done in the past. But, the choice of words in this editorial is very ironic.

I’m surprised to see our local paper being linked here on CAF. The Golden Rule, do onto others as you would have them do unto you, was exactly why my sister and niece were at the Women’s March here. They both work in healthcare, and are concerned over the coming changes to the ACA, as well as the way we treat immigrants and minority groups living here. They are still offended by Trump’s recorded remarks about having his way with women, whether or not it was “locker room talk.”

The last few lines from the linked piece: "Those who marched on Saturday and those who cheered the arrival of President Trump have a lot of differences to work through in finding solutions to the many complicated problems that divide our nation. Solving these problems is not going to be easy, and getting there will certainly involve disagreements and political strife. But if those on the left and those on the right can rise above the temptation to denigrate others during the many arguments to come, we’ll all be a lot better off for it." Sounds like great advice to me 👍.

Words to live by, certainly.

Whether they can be adhered to in our troubled times, when the “code of silence and selective abstraction” of the politically correct meets the “we shall win at all costs” of the alt-right, is a question that I wouldn’t even try to answer. 😦
