I can’t find the article, but some magazine … maybe the Wall Street Journal (?) had an article about how deer from hunts are turned over to soup kitchens and food pantries. The state arranges to pay to have the animals butchered at low cost, etc.
 
Wisconsin has a deer donation program. Donate your deer to a participating butcher and they will cut it up and donate it to the less fortunate in the community! The state along with generous hunters help to pay the butchers thru donations. I gave mine last year. This year I did not get one:(

Trespassing on church property is not a federal crime, and the penalty for first time offenses is usually a fine. And all that only if the church presses charges.

I personally have never hunted deer. I used to go after duck near Stuttgart, Arkansas - shotgun hunting exclusively.
 
I was rummaging around and found a phone number for people to call in connection providing deer to feed the poor.
