well like what Fr. Corapi said, that even the bishop place his hand on this women during ordination nothing will happen, they will never :nope: be a priest nor a deacon because it is against the Magesterium. And why is this so? well the most intelligent man will say “I JUST DONT KNOW:hmmm: " if i die and go to heaven i’ll ask Jesus why”…:tsktsk:

Women priests!

People have been warning about it for years. Only to be dismissed as “reactionary” “rad trad” “conservative” and every other mean spirited name in the book.

Now it is upon us, And there is nothing no one can do. Not Pope not laity no one. on my local cable channel, A priest says sunday mass. “assisted by 2 females” the women are vested in alb, cinctures, amice, and stole. They perform every function except say the words of consecration.

When the Eastern bloc countries opened up. after the fall of communism, their was a little known report in (i think it was TIME) not sure. About women being ordained as Deacons and priests in the underground Church. At first the CDF denied it. Then later the vatican said the Bishops who ordained these women did so because they thought the Church was in danger of disappearing. All of these Bishops were in communion with Rome. But funny thing is I dont recall any excommunications being handed out. Does anyone else remember this?
My memory is A little fuzzy so I may have some details wrong. But I think the country was Cszeckoslovakia (sp)?

I don’t think it’s quite so much that these “ordinations” are happening that is the problem–the main thing we should be worried about is lukewarm or slightly-less-than orthodox Catholics following these “priests.” This is where you really would get into the notion of imperiled souls.

I don’t understand how you can try to be an activist against something that can’t be changed. It’s like trying to have a protest march to move Mount Everest… You can complain and picket and speak out and even attemp to blow it up, but you will never move the mountain.

I will certainly pray for these so-called activists, as well as the people that might follow them. I will also pray that the Holy Father will take action to ensure that these people understand the gravity of what they’re doing.

I agree, Part of the problem is lukewarm catholics or “Cultural” Catholocism. Just witness any Sunday Mass, (at least in my area) People come late to Mass, then as soon as they take communion they “run” out. Anywhere from one third to half the people do this.

As A convert this is one of the things that amazed me, when I entered the Church. A lukewarm attitude to religion, indifferent at best.

Back to the topic. There is nothing anyone can do to stop this! (Women Priests) They are here! What you are seeing is the vanguard emerging, of A coming throng of Women Priests.
What can the Pope do?..absolutely nothing
What can the clergy do?..nothing, most of them are for women priests. remember they are the ones who gave us Altar girls, and Female Eucharistic Ministers
What can the laity do? …we are powerless.
write all of the letters to Rome you want, it will avail you nothing.
In the neighboring diocese, A friend told me 2-3 Months ago, that Women were “doing” the Mass. With the full knowledge of the Bishop.

Okay, I feel so naive. Are there really women ‘priests’ in supposedly Catholic parishes, under a diocese and Bishop recognized by Rome, celebrating the Mass?

Now I am sure to be ripped apart, But the Diocese I spoke of has women priests. A lot of people seem to be in denial. or perhaps they haven’t shown up yet, in the rest of the Country. That is why I began the previous post like “chicken little” They are here! “the sky is falling”

Like I said the Sunday Mass, On our local cable station has a Priest and his 2 female “assistants” you can be sure, that these “ordinations” are not the first, nor will they be the last. Look how we ended up with altar girls, and female EM’s No matter what Rome says the bishops and Priests will simply foist them upon us.
They are doing it already. And then the Abuse becomes the norm. The biggest mistake of the Late great JPII, was to say he had “no authority” to ordain women. He should have made it an “Ex Cathedra” pronouncement.
Not to worry, this Diocese of which I spoke, Is losing Catholics to Protestant Fundamentalism, at such A rate. That in 10 years there will be no one left for these “priestess” to “minister” to.

Such A shame, Because of the overwhelming ethnicity of the people. This Diocese had been traditionally Catholic for over 200 years. Now my relatives, are walking around thumping Bibles. while historic Churches close around them. And they dont even care. About 10 years ago the Diocese went through one of the worst sex abuse scandals ever. All played out in the local Media during the trial of one of the Priests. A high placed Monsignor was found to have a vast “stash” of Homosexual pornography in the rectory. sad sad sad. I rambled on so you would understand the turmoil this Diocese is in and thats how the Bishop is getting away with his Priestesses (sp)?

BTW A young Priest (30 something) requested the “Indult” for Himself and A group of about 400. Not only was it denied But Father said the Bishop Physically threatened him.
This priest is now in Rome, Most of the Faithful drive 55 m iles one way to my Parish for the 9:30am Indult.

I don’t think it was a mistake at all. Ordinatio Sacerdotalis is just as much an infallible statement of Church teaching as any Ex Cathedra declaration.

What has been infallible defined is the the Church has no Authority to Ordain a female.

I wish it were true. But priests and theologians immediately attacked Ordinatio Sacerdotalis. What i meant was the late Holy Father should have said This was an article of faith, that only men may be ordained to the priesthood.

That is why these Bishops are clandestinely ordaining women.
And they are doing it.
Rome can make all the pronouncements it wants
The US Bishops do what they want
We are witnessing the first (of many) Women Priests

Which diocese are you speaking about?
 
I also, would like to know the name of the diocese. Are you sure that somebody isn’t making this up as they go along?
 
These women are not ordained. This parody of the sacrament is invalid from the get-go, to use a theological phrase. The excommunication attached to this act is automatic - latae-sententiae. The parties know that I’m sure.

As I recall, this group could not find a Bishop with valid orders to attempt this travesty - so they got an “Old catholic” “Bishop” to say the words.

A travesty - the only point it proves is how little these people who seek the ordination of women regard the snactity of the sacrament and, of course, the authority of the church. If women could be ordained, would these be the women we want? that God wants? Doubtful.

This is incorrect; the excommunication for “ordaining” a woman priest is ferendae sententiae.

From the CDF’s Decree on the Attempted Priestly Ordination of Some Catholic Women:
  1. It is necessary above all to state precisely that the case under consideration does not involve a latae sententiae penalty, which is incurred ipso facto when a delict expressly established by the law is committed. It concerns instead a ferendae sententiae penalty, imposed after the guilty party has been duly warned (cf. cann. 1314; 1347 S1 CIC). As provided by can. 1319 S1 CIC, this Congregation has the power to threaten determinate penalties by precept.

They are in MANY Dioceses in the US
The laity in this country are in total DENIAL!!
Why would I ever make up something so profoundly disturbing?
Even though I am blessed in my Parish with the Indult, This has caused A serious crisis of Faith for me personally!
I have thought of leaving the Church! And I am A Convert!
But where in the world would I go?
This is not something new, As I posted at the beginning there were reports years ago, that the Church had ordained Women in the Eastern bloc countries. It came to light after the fall of Communism.
I think sometimes that my fellow Catholics in this Country have their collective heads stuck in the sand.
Why is it so suprising that women are being ordained? and are even now running Catholic Parishes? Do any of you even have A clue how many priests live with their male lovers (or female) in Rectorys?
Its friday night do you know where youre Priest is?
My Aunt rents her house every year to a group of Priests and religious, who come into our city to “party”
I apologize to any and all on this Board who may be offended, by anything i have written in these Posts.

Others have asked for specifics such as the names of dioceses, yet all you offer is emotional conjecture. Do you understand how that tends to make your postings less than believeable?
